Hostel best enjoyed with a glass of local wine!

Lo de Chichí Hostal is a gorgeous and relaxing base from which to explore Cafayate and its surroundings. The staff and facilities were great, and all at a very reasonable price.
The hostel centres around a beautiful garden - complete with trussed grapevines to remind you that you're in wine country - with views of the nearby mountains. It's a peaceful place to listen to the birds sing, enjoy a bottle of wine you've brought home from the vineyards, and read or write that book you've been thinking about!
I ended up extending my stay for a couple of days longer than expected, simply to soak in the tranquility and continue sampling from the huge range of vineyards the region has to offer!

Don’t go!!!!! No vayan!!!! We could not sleep all night

there are no codes of coexistence. people make noise until late and have no respect for each other. It is one of the worst hostels I have ever been in my life

Different place

It's kind of hard to describe the place. We were there during off season and there was not a lot going on. It seemed a little run down but not dirty. I saw them cleaning all the time. Maybe the vibe is different when there are more people. Although being one of the three only guests the staff invited us for dinner and cooked for us which was really great. The food was good and it was interesting to get to know the people and learn more about cafayate.
The staff was always helpful as well and explained us where to go and how to best experience the town. If you like peace and quiet and want a great view, go and stay at lo de chichi.
The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast. There was not much to it and apparently people don't even use dishes. That was a little weird.
But all in all it was a comfortable stay which is probably a lot better in summer.

Friendly and clean place - perfect for backpacker

Very clean place, great welcome from Tony, eager to share tips and info about the place.
Good location - 2 quadras from the main square, convenient to wander around while still being really quiet at night.
Laundry for free and access to the kitchen (very simple one).

Loved It

Loved this hostel!! The staff were amazing and welcoming, and everyone went out together for live music and dancing. Room had fans to help keep it cool, and some hammocks to sit in and relax in the beautiful garden. Was a very quiet hostel when i was there, but was a great choice for the beautiful town! And Killa the puppy is SO cute!!
