I'd need at least an extra star to rate this properly
It's really hard to find the right words to describe this pousada and their owners. But let's try.
Starting with the pousada itself, a beautiful piece of architecture seamlessly built around and in harmony with the (pre-) existing vegetation. Colourful little houses that seem built with marzipan are all connected through wooden bridges and stairs. The rooms and ensuite bathrooms are cozy and clean. The breakfast area in the centre of the pousada provides the perfect setting for a chat with the other guests and the owners.
However, what makes this pousada even more special than its special architecture are their owners. Riccardo gives his guests much more than tourist information. He speaks many languages and he is such a pleasant person to have a conversation with, no matter the topic. He and his wife Flavia are funny - yet discrete - entertainers, especially when it comes to tales about the island and its visitors.
The delicious homemade food prepared by Flavia and served for breakfast is the icing on a beautiful cake.
