Maple Leaf Inn- a Great Travelers Inn

This locally owned, family run Inn is a fantastic choice for foreign travelers who want an authentic experience in Shuhe (Lijiang). The Old Town of Lijiang is an UNESCO site and is comprised of Dayan Old Town, Baisha, and Shue. I prefer this tiny town (3,000 people) to the busy town of Lijiang (total about 1.2M people). This cozy inn is located near the South entrance of Shuhe ancient town, a totally walkable town with restaurants, shops, and gardens. Maple Leaf Inn is a great place to meet other travelers; as well as a place to book your day trips to popular sites like Tiger Leaping Gorge and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. If you are too tired to look for a breakfast or dinner spot after a long day of exploring- no problem, they have a full kitchen and can suggest lots of options for meals. You can also arrange a pickup and drop off at the airport/train station with this property. I initially communicated with them through Booking dot com, but afterwards communication is easier if you have Whatsapp or Wechat.

When I came to the Maple Leaf Inn, I was surprised that the boss is Dutch, and I was amazed by his fluent Chinese. The son tried his best to communicate with him in the English he had learned, and he was a little happy. When this "foreigner" came to Lijiang, he fell in love with it, settled down, made a living, got married, and had children. Such a pleasant life can only be achieved by a "foreigner". I also yearn for it, but I can't do it. What kind of Lijiang charm is this. The proprietress is not only a good "counter", she is also talented, and the video is attached to confirm. While enjoying the morning light in the glass-domed hall, the son also enjoyed an authentic breakfast. The homestay has a warm environment, Lijiang is sunny and warm, and the owner and his wife are enthusiastic. It is said that the sunshine in Lijiang is warm, but it turns out that there are more than just the boss and the homestay.

The inn is convenient to travel in and out, there are food around, the environment and rooms are warm and clean, the store service is good, and the hostess can play and sing a few songs for you on the guitar when she is not busy, so romantic😊

I enjoyed the quietness, the cleanliness and the Friendly reception staff who can able to speak English . The rooms are very spacious with large comfortable beds. The food was delicious and the room service was quick and easy.
I would be more than happy to stay here again in the near future.
