Surprise Hotel in Macau
Actually a really good location if you are travelling to Macau to see the old town rather than the glitzy new area that is mainly casinos. A little tricky to locate - streets are very narrow and a bit of a warren: taxi driver got stuck on way in.
Staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Really easy to speak with and happy to offer their opinion on places to eat nearby without "bluffing".
Wary there was no lift but there was although small.
Room was really nice family room. Good sized double bed and smaller bed - but a proper small bed not a converted sofa. Room clean and tidy. Not much of a view, but that is likely the norm for all buildings in the area as they are fairly packed in.
Easy access to St Paul ruin, the Fort on the hill, shopping areas, restaurants and even some of the older casinos.
No need for taxi to get about - unless you want to go over to the other, newer, island to visit the casinos. 20-30mins to get to the airport.
Small hotel but very good value.

The best hotels for a walk in Macau
I heard about this hotel from a Vtuber traveler I was referring to.
It is close to the bus stop where 101X also stops, and you can walk to the historic district.
Rooms are clean, easy to use and have L'Occitane amenities.
There are plastic bottles of water and water can be provided in the lobby.
The hotel is located by the city of the 5th of October and I bought a breakfast tart.
The staff were kind and pleasant and told me about the deposit on paper with poor English.
Macao is fun to explore, the food is good and the people are kind.
I want to stay at this hotel next time.
