Great Place To Relax - Just Nice & Relaxing...
We drove down from Plitvice Lakes along clear open roads (no potholes!) and very little traffic. Scenery – spectacular of course and we made good progress. Croatia (and the Balkans) is quite hilly and unless you want to drive over and along some very hilly and poor roads, the main routes are perfectly driveable with a caravan in tow).
The approach (from the North) is down the E43/A1 to J16 (take the 106 towards Pag and follow the instructions on their website). The site is on the left and down a bit of a steep drive, which could mean a bit of heavy throttle on the way out...be aware. That said, we pulled in, booked in, backed in (thank goodness for a motor mover!) and settled in. The pitch was a self-contained beauty which had EHU & water (incl grey water drain) so no messing with aquarolls. The site has a small bar and pizzeria on-site and a lovely sitting/eating space outside that faces the beach and the view across to the islands. The beach itself is few paces from here and the sea welcomes happy dippers! There is a tiny “harbour” for the half-dozen or so small boats to moor up and I guess the owners would probably be supplying the restaurant with fresh fish.
We came off-season so the restaurant was not open. But there is a good supermarket a couple of miles down the road. The area is peaceful and ideal for exploring the town of Zadar (this has a spectacular harbour: Adriatic ferries and impressive yachts sit along the walkable quayside, while the old town is impressive and a nice place to mooch about).
Odmoree is a family-run site and the owners take pride in what they offer. All the staff were very friendly and helpful (we had some washing to do and this was taken away and returned very quickly for a very reasonable sum). It’s a very relaxing place to visit and I think we could have stayed there longer but had to move on.
Thoroughly recommended. Probably best for adults as there are few places for children to play (apart from the Beach (stony like much of the Croatian coastline) but it’s very relaxing and the scenery is spectacular. Great sunsets!
