great stay!
A great experience. Clarisse and her daughter Vaimano have been there constantly for us, interesting discussions, and great cuisine:)

Fantastic stay
A very pleasant stay at the Vaimano pension!
Very pleasant welcome by Vaimano herself, assisted by Pikitoa and Gabin and Auntie.
The bungalows are spacious and comfortable, the meals taken together with the family are very, very hearty and delicious, Vaimano is a second chef in Tahiti and his talent is expressed in traditional cuisine punctuated with great creativity!
Pikitoa and Gabin are adorable and co-organized the outing to motu swimming pool with a delicious barbecue and a trip in a traditional canoe.
Everyone was very available while respecting everyone's independence.
In summary, an unforgettable stay where the hardest part was leaving!

Unfortunately not the usual Polynesian hospitality
We had booked this accommodation some time in advance and had been in regular contact with Clariss. We had also already paid for the stay in advance by bank transfer. We were still in contact by email just a few days before we arrived. When we arrived at the airport, Clariss had obviously forgotten that we had booked and it seemed as if she was fully booked. She greets all the guests at the airport with a garland of flowers, except us. We don't understand French and therefore don't know what is going on and stand around a bit helplessly. In the end she must have been a bit disorganized and we get our hut. A garland of flowers to welcome us, but nothing later. We feel a bit like second-class guests because we don't speak French. She doesn't make much of an effort for us. Nevertheless, the huts are very nice and the food is delicious... although there is very little on the first evening as she had planned for 3 fewer guests. Given the already high prices for the hut, we found it a little disappointing that we were charged a lot of money for the canoe and bike when we left. The accommodation is a few kilometers from the nearest shop and you need a bike just to get something to drink. It's a shame, because it would have been a much nicer memory of this stay.

Pension
We were really looking forward to this stay on the island of Raivavae. A magnificent island despite everything ❤️
But then the pension... it's something else. We left so disappointed...
Blasé.
And yet we have visited several islands where everything has always gone well.
But this is the first time that we have been forgotten at the airport. (We were really scared! We didn't know what to do. She wouldn't pick up the phone).
Bungalow not clean...and so on.
Home really not the best. Horrible even. She was the most embarrassed.
No excuses (that's all we asked for, an apology) as if it was normal to leave your guests alone at the airport for more than an hour.
the host did not say a single word to us during the entire stay, even though we were very accessible, even though the stay started very badly. Apologies that's all. That's it, let's move on.
We have very bad memories of it. Unfortunately.
And we knew how to say it to those around us.
In short, run away.

Magical stay in a truly unspoiled paradise
What an amazing time. Pension Vaimano features 4 bungalows situated on a hill overlooking Motu Piscine and it is spectacular. Our bungalow was spacious, comfortable, and clean. From our private deck, we had a great view of the lagoon and motu. There's fruit all around. Bicycles are available. You get a mini fridge for keeping your Hinano cold. And you get paradise.
The pension is ran by Clarissa and she is a fantastic host. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Every meal we had was great. Multiple times during our stay Clarissa offered to drive us around Raivavae or to the market to get supplies. Her dogs are really friendly and were often found sleeping outside our bungalow at night. My wife also loved the puppies. Clarissa also arranged a trip to Motu Piscine with a picnic which was awesome.
Raivavae is a special place. It is an unspoiled paradise. You could sit by the main ring road and maybe see 10 cars drive by during the entire day. While biking or walking, every person you pass waves. Its the perfect place to disconnect from the rest of the world.
I would highly recommend visiting Raivavae and I would equally recommend staying with Clarissa at Pension Vaimano. I hope to be able to return one day.
