Friendly and cool place
Such a cool hotel with everything saved from the old days! We had a great room with nice beds and a sitting area. Really good space. The staff was so friendly, all of them, cleaners, breakfast staff and several people in the reception. You can borrow cups and a water boiler (if you are like us that wants tea quite often). The price was also very good, cheap to be in this area and very close to the subway. I really recommend this place!

Never again.
The condition leaves much to be desired; first, you are greeted by duct tape that patches the carpet.
Secondly, a broken elevator can happen, but then you lie down in the evening to watch some television, and it doesn't work, so you have to walk down to the reception without the elevator. (There is no telephone) here it is explained that the television is not part of the booking and that it does not work in any room.
I am currently wondering where the three stars come from; I have been traveling for business for over 25 years, and hearing that the television is just decoration is a first for me.
And all of this for €170 is quite questionable.

Spacious room and great location
The room was very spacious and the city views from the window were excellent.
The staircase was very beautiful in this historical building. Location was excellent at the heart of Kurfürstendamm area. The Indian man at the reception was very friendly.
Unfortunately there was no handsoap in the bathroom and the internet was slow. Corridors were a maze and it's easy to get lost on your way to the room.

Nice and helpful staff, very centrally cituated
Although old and somewhat worn, this hotel offers great value for the money. There is an old lounge where one can relax after a long day. The traditional restaurant “Alt Berliner Biersalon” is a few hundred meters away, as is the train station “Bahnhofstrasse Zoo”, through which the lines S3, S5, S7 and S9 runs. All four lines offer transport to the main station, Friedrichstraße station, Alexanderplatz station et al.
