Looks good on the outside, but service is lacking – disappointing 4-star superior standard at Randsbergerhof.
The Randsbergerhof Hotel is visually very beautiful, well-maintained, and the wellness area on the roof looks inviting. However, the service is an absolute disaster for a 4-star superior establishment. Pretty much everything that can go wrong in customer service was done wrong here.
Room service & minibar: The minibar in the room was completely empty. When inquiring at the reception, it was bluntly stated that there has been no room service "since Corona." This is an extremely weak argument for this price range and hotel category.
Staff priorities: While we were told that there is no room service, the staff at the bar could be seen drinking champagne and enjoying themselves privately. We had to wait over 20 minutes for two ordered espressos in an almost empty bar because the staff simply had no time for us.
Wellness area: At check-in, we were told that everything for the wellness area was prepared in the room (including slippers/shoes). However, there were only bathrobes in the room. When we went downstairs to clarify this, we were ignored again while the staff preferred to continue drinking champagne with other guests.
I have visited many hotels in the Bavarian Forest, but I have never experienced such poor and ignorant service. For €200.00 per night, this is an absolute disappointment. It is truly a shame for the beautiful hotel, but with such staff, the establishment simply does not deserve the "superior" designation. I am extremely disappointed.

Great Hotel, Great Value, Modern and Clean - Recommended
Room super clean and modern, extra cot no problem.
3/4 pension, a dream! Rich breakfast buffet / afternoon hot as well as cold dishes / dinner class buffet
Extra fries for our daughter, no extra costs & as expected no problem.
Sauna & pool landscape really great and something for everyone.
Absolutely recommended, we would love to come back!

No longer standard
Bathrobe and sauna towel in the room were missing, you first have to organize yourself.
Breakfast is standard except that a cook prepares eggs fresh. That's gonna take time. Otherwise, the choice is rather meagre.
Staff are inflexible. Also on multiple request there was no possibility to get any snack while working in the lobby. Nothing, no nuts at the bar, not even dry bread. Only what is on the restaurant menu and only when you are in the restaurant.
The reception staff is busy with computers a lot, less with the guests on site.
The price is OK but for a holiday this ****S hotel is not recommended.
