Charming lakeside hotel

The Hotel Kleines Meer is located right in the center of the small town of Waren, overlooking the Muritzsee, one of the largest lakes in Germany. We recommend booking a room with lake view.
From a friendly welcome to spacious rooms and good (free) Wifi, it is difficult to find fault with anything here. The breakfast buffet is very good and you should have dinner at their restaurant at least once.
Everything Waren has to offer is within walking distance, so you won't necessarily need your car. [Parking must definitely be booked in advance, because there is only limited space in the hotel's garage!]

Hotel with poor value for money !

Small hotel in a great location in the old town and only separated from the waterfront by a little busy road.
Competent and friendly staff.
Double room to the lake side of manageable size with small bathroom and a very narrow floor level shower.
The price/performance ratio does not fit.

Fantastic town of old city in Waren. The staff seemed not so interested in help and advice us as guest. Seemed like the old East-european style is still around in the former East Germany. Not so many smileys around! Also make sure to bring on some extra cash since very few restaurants, shops and bars take credit Cards.

Once it might have been great

We booked a room with lake-view and ended in a small room under the roof. We hardly could place our two bags somewhere. The furnishing was from last century. When it rains and you open the window the "Spannteppich" got soacking wet. But you need too as there is no aircon and in the room is gets hot like hell. The elevator takes ages to come and ages to go.
Breakfast is good even so you don't have to many choice at the buffet. But fine. A little annoying is that the staff attack the buffert at 10 to 11 like locusts to have also breakfast. But the most negative thing was a telefoncall at 11.10 on out day of depature (after spending 5 nights there) "Where are you? We expect you to check out immediately" Finally ther are better choices in Waren for sure.

A nice stay

We had a comfortable stay here in June, nice room, excellent buffet breakfast. It's true that the staff don't speak much English, but we enjoyed practising our German. The quality of service at reception was exceptional (Frau Gisa), really helpful and nice and helped us out a great deal.
