A wonderful experience just outside of Methoni

To wake up every morning looking at the magnificent castle of Methonia and sleep in the evening with the same view, the castle lit and, if you are lucky, with the moon side by side. A light but well-kept accommodation in a perfect location, high, surrounded by greenery, with a nice swimming pool, delicious breakfast if you wish (additionally charged, but worth it), absolute cleanliness, honesty, tranquility - what else to ask for?

Perfect!!

A very beautiful hotel, with incredible views of Methoni and its castle. The location excellent, the environment very quiet, the parking outside rooms, the pool awesome.
Mr. George and staff are always kind and helpful.
The rooms are large and comfortable, with an equipped kitchen and always clean (was cleaned daily).
I highly recommend it and will definitely visit again!

Calm, serene, and rejuvenating.

My wife and I spent a lovely 5 days at La Sapienza Hotel mid-May. From my perspective, this doesn't happen. By that I mean, on our last day at La Sapienza, it was a little melancholy. La Sapienza Hotel, Methoni, the area just resonated with us. Lovely restaurants, hiking, coffee, bakeries, Ugghh! So much. The Owner, George, is wonderful. George was very helpful, easy to connect with, and made our stay very relaxing and comfortable. The hotel is simply lovely. For us, perfect. The view from the balconies is spectacular, and clearly the hotel takes advantage of that. We had essentially 360 degree view over looking the harbour/bay, Methoni Castle, the hills behind us full of olive groves, oranges. I wish we had only known beforehand how we were going to feel about La Sapienza. We would have booked a longer stay.

not good hospitality

Despite the many positive reviews, I would like to share our own experience at La Sapienza.
The location is beautiful and the pool area enjoys a fantastic setting with wonderful views. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different from what we expected.
The owner seemed unhappy and uninterested throughout our stay. Most of the day he was on his phone talking loud or on his tablet and there was very little interaction with us or with other guests after breakfast.
One of the biggest disappointments was that the bar was completely closed during our stay. It was nearly impossible to order a coffee, cocktail, glass of wine or any other drink during the day. The bar looked as if it had not been operating for a very long time.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that guests are not allowed to bring their own drinks. There is a large sign, stating that outside drinks are forbidden. As a result, guests are left without any possibility to enjoy a drink by the pool.
The pool itself is in a fantastic location and could be a wonderful place to spend the day. However, with no bar service, no drinks, no music and very little atmosphere, it was not an enjoyable place to relax.
In our opinion it is lacking the hospitality, service and welcoming atmosphere.

Lovely spacious apartment with great host and beautiful views.

We stayed in this apartment for 2 nights in July but wished we could have stayed longer. It was a lovely, light, modern, spacious apartment with great outside space and beautiful views. The pool area was lovely too. George the owner is very helpful and welcoming.
