Outstanding Personal Service from Aaron!!!

I chose The Imperial Hotel because it is a favorite venue of mine to meet friends for coffee and lunch.
The interior is really nice and the staff are always amazing. My recent meetup group event exceeded expectations thanks to a young member of staff named Aaron (Bar and Restaurant)
Having a professional background in tourism and having worked as a duty manager myself, I understand what it takes to provide seamless service. I really appreciate the massive difference that a genuine personal touch makes to the guest experience.
Aaron met us upon arrival and was absolutely exceptional and very capable. He took everything in his stride, managing our group effortlessly and providing a level of service that thoroughly impressed everyone in attendance.
Because of the fantastic experience we had with the area provided for our coffee event and the personal service both Aaron and the girls delivered, my group has already requested that we return to The Imperial again soon.
Fantastic job, Aaron!

Extremely rude and nasty man at reception

My heavily pregnant relative walked in and asked if she could use the bathroom, an older man behind the reception desk told her there were public toilets down the street and to get out, If that is how they see fit to speak to members of the community, then a public facing role is not where that man should be, we have had all of our family christenings, and communions with this hotel group and to say that we were appalled by the treatment in this particular hotel is an understatement. This hotel needs to be more mindful of looking after the people in the community it sits in as these are the people that will keep coming back when they are valued and respected.

Not fit for purpose and extremely poor value.

I really cannot believe that Booking.com have allowed this hotel to remain on their site. On arrival we were directed to a converted garage in a carpark at the rear of the property. It felt unsafe and would have been noisy. When given a room on the top floor in the main hotel it immediately presented a problem as the flush on the toilet cistern did not turn off and water appeared on the tiles. When the cistern stopped running the problem seemed to be resolved. We went out. On return later at night we found there were three double electric sockets but none worked. You could not charge phones, boil a kettle for tea or plug in any other item. In the morning the toilet was used and not long after there was banging and shouting at our door. An older lady who did not speak English shouted at me. She then used a phone to translate what she was saying. Apparently our toilet was flooding her room. So now we could not use toilet or shower facilities. We left without any refreshments as the hotel kitchen was closed. The whole premises is rundown everything is broken or breaking. The sofa in reception is propped up with books. The one positive was clean fresh bedding. I’ve asked for my money back.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. Outside the hotel looks quaint and attractive. The first issue is that there was no one at reception, we had to go into the bar to fins a member of staff. Then we were brought down a lane way to a flat roofed, v shabby extension, they call it the annex. Our room was really cheaply furnished, nothing nice about it. One window overlooking a very derelict looking "carpark". But the worst thing was the smell of concentrated bleach. After 10 minutes I started to feel sick so we left and asked for a refund. Again back into bar to look for assistance. They offered us a room in the hotel at that point (why hadn't that been offered first?) but I felt too ill and wanted to leave. There were plenty hotel rooms available in tralee that evening. We booked through booking.com but 9 days later we have not heard back from them. So save yourself 150+ euro and book anywhere else

Very disappointing roast of the day.

Had roast of the day. It was supposed to be turkey and ham. The waitress informed me there was no ham left, only turkey. After a 20min wait, the turkey dish appeared and was just bits and ends of the roast, no slices. The turkey dish which cost €17 was presented with 4 pieces of veg, tasted like cardboard. Very disappointing.
