La Moscadella – a dreamlike gem in the heart of the Val d’Orcia
La Moscadella in Castelmuzio, very close to Pienza, is a truly dreamlike property in the beautiful Val d’Orcia. The historic building was built in the 16th century. Built as a monastery in the century and beautifully restored with much love and taste – a real gem.
The garden is simply dreamlike: everywhere beautifully maintained plants, fragrant lavender bushes, rosemary hedges, and olive trees. In addition, there are many small, lovingly designed corners for lingering and relaxing. The entire property is extremely well-maintained and designed with an incredible amount of attention to detail.
The rooms are also beautiful, very well-maintained, and furnished to a high standard. The entire house is furnished with special art objects and extraordinary items. Everything seems stylish, individual, and at the same time wonderfully authentic.
Upon arrival, you are welcomed with a bottle of wine, homemade cantuccini from the in-house agriturismo, and cookies. The minibar is free of charge, and high-quality care products from Locherber Milano are available during your stay. Upon departure, a particularly nice surprise awaits: a high-quality olive oil from the in-house agriturismo – a wonderful memory of this special place.
The pool is beautiful and very well-maintained and invites you wonderfully to relax and unwind.
The breakfast is also excellent: a fantastic buffet with a large selection and high-quality, regional products – fresh, lovingly prepared, and of the best quality.
The restaurant is also a highlight. Authentic Tuscan cuisine, exquisite wines, and very attentive service. Particularly impressive are the dreamlike views from the restaurant windows and from the terrace over the beautiful Val d’Orcia.
We would especially like to highlight the exceptional service of the entire team. Every single employee is warm, attentive, and incredibly eager to help – every wish is practically read from your lips. You feel well taken care of from the first to the last moment.

Great way to experience Tuscany, especially if you are new to the area.
LaMoscadella provided an exceptional Tuscany experience. The accommodations and service were world class on every level. We were made to feel comfortable and at home from the moment we arrived. The service staff is welcoming, efficient, and paid close attention to our personal preferences.
We took advantage of several of the experiences they offered (cooking class, barbque at a local farm, pasta making classe) and each of them provided an exceptional cultural experience. Because they connect you with local artisans you develop relationships with the local people and really get to know the culture and history.
When we wanted to go other places, or leave the premises for dinner they offered great recommendations and directions and even had reservations made for us at local restaurants.
Over all, one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. A great place to go to just relax, or to enjoy the larger Tuscany area. Well worth the expense!!

THE RIGHT PLACE TO UNWIND FROM STRESS
We had a truly pleasant stay at Moscadella. An oasis of tranquility immersed in the silence of the hills, accompanied only by the chirping of birds.
The facility is very well maintained, has ample parking, a beautiful pool, and offers an excellent breakfast with quality products.
At dinner, the restaurant offers, during this period, two options: a climate-controlled indoor room and a charming outdoor space under the trees. The cuisine is refined and well-prepared, accompanied by an excellent wine list.
Kudos also to all the staff, always kind, professional, and willing to meet every request. The rooms are spacious, modern, and equipped with a minibar.
Moreover, in just 5 minutes by car, you can reach the center of Pienza, one of the most charming villages in the province of Siena.
An experience we recommend without hesitation. We will definitely return, perhaps to discover the charm of the establishment even during the winter season.

You cannot do better than this for an Italy vacation!
Wow!!! What a great experience! It was our 50th wedding anniversary trip and we stayed a wonderful 5 nights at La Moscadella. Because of our 50th Anniversary, they gave us the honeymoon suite, which was amazing… so large, comfortable, and appealing. Our room included fresh flowers, fresh fruit, snacks, and wine. The gracious staff were so helpful and accommodating and the farm-to-table restaurant there provided excellent food and service. We participated in three excursions away from the villa, arranged by the staff which were all great and also enjoyed a pasta making class with a Tuscan dinner afterward in which we ate the pici pasta we had made. We also got to meet and talk with the owner, Isabella, who the creator of the “Isabella Experience”. Overall, it was definitely the highlight of our two-week trip and we can highly recommend it to anyone wanting a very special experience in Tuscany.

A slice of heaven
We could not have been happier with our experience at La Moscadella. The property, the room, the staff, the food, the activites were all wonderful. They really take great care in every detail to make sure your experience is special. We will definitely go back.
