The accommodations don’t have an elevator, the downsides are here, but the staff is here to help with the lifting.

The accommodations have 3 to 4 car parking, recommend booking early, big cars like Alphard are a little backward, the staff provide great recommendations, good service, both behind the house, on the booking and on the work page.
The accommodations don’t have an elevator, the drawbacks are here, but the staff is here to help with the lift, clean accommodations, everything is well-stocked, 6+1 comfy babies, big bathrooms, bathtubs, kitchens with everything.
It’s a short 10-minute walk through the city, but down the hill and back a little tired.

Comfortable

A residence with self-service check-in and check-out, located a bit above the town. Decidedly clean and quiet, it offers mini-apartments equipped with every comfort. We had a very good time during the two nights we spent there. The room was very spacious, but if you have a lot of luggage, the stairs to get there are a bit steep. Free washer and dryer service, from 6 PM to 9 PM, in my opinion priceless! The chat with the managers works very well. For a little over 90 euros a night, in the middle of August, I recommend it.

Good option in Hakone Yumoto

A really good option in Hakone Yumoto itself, rather than one of the other towns in the area. We were out most of the day but it was nice to come back and have some space to relax and stretch out (still a small apartment but quite spacious by Japanese standards). Reverse Cycle Aircon/heating worked well. Internet was fast. Modern kitchen equipment, induction cooktop, large fridge and an absolutely excellent bathroom and wet room. Instructions to get there (inc local bus that stops right outside) were very clear and there's a Family Mart just down the hill a bit. Overall, this was a great break from hotel rooms as we travelled around.

Surprise - great place

I must say in advance that I was initially concerned about how this accommodation would look. There are not many reasonably priced accommodation options in this area, especially around golden week. The reality exceeded all our expectations. The accommodation was great! Lots of space, large bathroom, kitchen available. Nice view of the mountains. Just great for me. Checkin and checkout without contact. Room clean nothing to complain about.

Budget option in hakone

This is a nice budget option in Hakone, if you can’t splurge on a Ryokan. It is just about 10-minute walk from the train station in Hakone-Yumato, so not far from the shopping and restaurant, but there is a slope to reach the hotel. It is self-manned, but they were flexible enough to receive our luggage we sent from Tokyo, which was God send considering the mentioned slope. The room is spacious, it has a kitchenette, a goo bathroom (toilet separate from shower), AC and TV. Note the tv does not have streaming options. Keep in mind most shops and restaurants close early in Hakone. After 7 pm the few restaurants (pizzeria and yakinuku that are open are full) so best stock up as there are only vending machines near the hotel. Also as mentioned no elevator, only stairs.
