A wonderful getaway with outstanding service

We had a wonderful stay at Brooks Spa lodge. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and very quiet perfect for relaxation..A special thank you to Fridah at the reception for the warm and welcoming hospitality. The service throughout our stay was top notch, especially from Grace, Apollo, Peter, and Roy, who were attentive, professional, and friendly, the food was great and well prepared. The rooms were clean but one area for improvement would be to include an accompaniment with meals purchased, as this would enhance the dining experience.
The lodge also offers excellent value for money, with quality service, comfortable accommodations, and a relaxing atmosphere that makes the stay well worth the cost. Overall it was an amazing experience, and we will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!

Good ambience with very bad service.

We visited Brook Lodge Gilgil over the weekend with two families and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience, especially for a family getaway.
The guest relations staff was impatient from the start — she left us waiting mid-tour of the rooms and handed us off to another staff member without explanation. The attitude throughout our stay, from the front office to the restaurant, felt like we were pushing to be served rather than being welcomed as guests.
For families with young children, this place falls short in several key ways:
Not baby/family-friendly: There is no playground on site. The sand area where kids can play is right next to an unbarricaded river source — a genuine safety hazard that kept us on high alert the entire time.
Unexpected charges for infants and toddlers: We were charged for a baby cot for a 1-year-old sleeping in the parents' room — something almost every other facility waives. Three other children, all under 6, were billed at full adult rates. No flexibility whatsoever.
⏱️ Extremely slow service: It took nearly 2 hours to get simple baby fruits (an avocado and a banana). When we tried to fetch them ourselves, we were told they had to be delivered to the room — so they could add a room service charge on top.
They ruined the kids' birthday: We had brought a birthday cake to celebrate the children. We agreed to pay the Ksh 1,000 corkage fee, and arranged for the cake to be presented after breakfast. After keeping us waiting for 30 minutes, the front office lady — Mercy — came to inform us the cake would not be presented because all the waiters were busy. We ended up cutting the birthday cake in our rooms. How long does it take to present a cake and make children's day special? This was heartbreaking and completely unacceptable.
The one saving grace is the ambience — the property is genuinely beautiful with lush greenery. But beautiful surroundings cannot compensate for unfriendly staff, safety concerns, and rigid, overpriced service.
I would not recommend Brook Lodge to families with young children. There are better-value, more family-conscious options out there.

Brooks Lodge & Spa — Our Recent Client Stay

We recently took our clients to Brooks Lodge & Spa, and they loved every bit of it.
Great service, relaxing atmosphere, and spotless rooms all through.
Meals were fresh, and the spa experience was a perfect added touch.
As JP-Safaris Kenya, we appreciate consistency — Brooks Lodge delivered.
Definitely a spot we’ll keep recommending to our guests.

Great staff make this place

The staff here are just fantastic and did everything they could to make our stay great. The rooms were simple but fine for what we needed. The pool was wonderful and we made good use of it. The food was good - but we were unfortunate that they were short staffed when we had dinner there and it was very slow service. We would definitely go back again.
