Best hospitable hotel

It’s not those fancy 5 star hotels, but the beds are comfortable, the dining room is peaceful and beautiful, the reception is phenomenal.
Jorunn is the best and most friendly and helpful lady I met. She helped us order pizza delivery from a local pizza tavern when we arrived late into the evening and kindly let us pick up utensils from the breakfast room. She also helped us to find a local bar so we enjoyed watching the FIF game with the locals.
Breakfast is delicious and sumptuous with a variety of choices! From brown cheese to the English breakfast to fresh yogurt and smoke salmon, it’s a great start of the day.
Bathroom amenities is simple and there’s not much space for storage. There’s one bottle of soap for both hair and body.
The bar stocks up the best apple cider of the region and it’s the best in Norway. Definitely check out the Hardanger ciders!

I would have thought a hotel named for the famous Trolltunga hike would be more accommodating to hikers like myself who wanted to catch the first shuttle from P2 to P3. This meant leaving at 5:45am but the breakfast table starts at 6 and neither the manager nor the breakfast server were interested in helping (even though most of it was laid out well in advance).

Nice stay ahead of Trolltunga hike

Nice hotel, stayed just the one night in a private room with ensuite. Included breakfast selection was pretty good as was the selection of beers at the bar in the evening. Plenty of parking for guests, short 20min drive to the trolltunga hike carparks.

Excellent stay. Room was comfy and had nice views. Hotel was perfectly located for hiking excursions and the plentiful breakfast was a perfect way to start a day of hiking. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly delicious for dinner, and the bar had a great selection of local ciders.
