the location of the hostel was ideal and most staff were friendly. The main reception, Oscar, made several female guests uncomfortable and had an unprofessionally lax attitude to male staff. His attitude impacted an otherwise positive experience.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSTEL!

I arrived at the hostel in the pouring rain, an hour before check-in, and was not allowed to wait inside, even indoors in the courtyard. They told me the hostel was "full" but there were empty spaces everywhere.
From the first moment I felt unwelcome and very uncomfortable. I have been travelling for over 8 years and I have never been treated like this in a hostel.
Excessive price: I paid €50 per night in July, and from what they offer, it is totally disproportionate.
❌ Negative aspects:
Breakfast is not included (coffee and tea only).
They don't give you towel or towel.
THE SHOWER IS MINISCULE: he hit me with the spigot all the time changing the temperature of the water, and I measure only 1.70 m.
Thin mattress and tiny pillow.
Small room for 4 people, no air conditioning, only a fan.
Noisy wooden stairs, heard all night.
The kitchen has few utensils and no oven.
There's an intimidating sign in the kitchen about how to wash dishes... the energy is not friendly at all.
Unclear and unhonest owner: we agreed by WhatsApp to cancel my first night (3 nights) and then he did not refund me, playing with words and taking advantage of my English level.
It gave me the feeling that they are run by very strict rules but without logic or empathy.
✅ Positive aspects:
Good service from employees, who only follow orders.
Central location and cleanliness acceptable.
Nice common space.

Must stay

Fabulous hostel, with wonderful people. Gorgeous sense of community here. Beautiful stories of Bled and Slovenia, lucky to have spoken at length to one man in particular (the owner/boss) whose insight/local knowledge was stunning. To note also, the understanding shown by Oscar when informed of the condition of a family member was so kind, and appreciated greatly. Very, clean and well kept.
Update: on leaving, the owner/boss once again showed his beautiful character, offering a gift after discussing an interest, and sharing his in-depth knowledge of another beautiful Slovenian product. The gesture alone was so shocking in its kindness, I was truly taken aback. I think it would be a terrible shame if you came to Bled and did not stay here. I’m only embarrassed I’m so terrible with names as I’d only love to give him the proper recognition. I think it’s Miha. Love this hostel, love Bled, would come back in an instant.

Dreadful

The owner of the hostel evicted my 19 year old daughter and her 6 friends at 230am as other guests were being too loud!!
She had no other accommodation but the owner didn’t care
They were not responsible for the noise but the owner didn’t want young people staying there!!
It’s a youth hostel
Avoid at all costs
