Great 7-Day Family Stay – Deserving 4+ Star Rating
We recently stayed here for 7 days in August as a family of five (mum, dad, three-year-old, and grandparents) on an All-Inclusive package booked through Jet2. Overall, it lives up to its 4+ star rating, and we would likely return.
Transfer & Location
The location is brilliant, right on Playa de Muro beach. The sea is lovely and shallow, which is perfect for little ones. While it isn’t the absolute best section of the beach, staff clear it every morning, and watching the sunrise on a clear day is highly recommended. The street side has shops, restaurants, and a supermarket right outside. We went with a private transfer from the airport which took 50 minutes, while the Jet2 return coach took just 45 minutes as we were the last pickup.
Rooms
We had two single-person rooms and one family room. The family room had great separate room and bed space for the three of us and came with an unrequested sea view. On arrival, two rooms were on the ground floor next to communal toilets and the main road. After complaining, reception relocated us immediately. We experienced a few room issues during the week (ants, a broken safe, and a temporary water leak from the bathroom ceiling), but staff acted instantly and resolved everything without issue. Rooms are clean and modern, equipped with fresh towels, bedding, a hairdryer, and basic toiletries.
Food & Drinks
Dining: Standard buffet options with nightly themes. We missed having an inclusive à la carte option and couldn't find English sausages at breakfast, but the ocean-view BBQ area for lunch and dinner was lovely. The food truck for fast food on your sunbed and the healthy poke bowl/smoothie corner were great touches. A 24/7 coffee shop offers quick pastries and snacks.
Ice Cream: Buffet ice cream is included, pool bar ice lollies feature 3 free options, and wider menu items are 50% off for AI guests.
Drinks: This is where the 4-star rating felt slightly questionable. Cocktails were premade, watered down, and sugary. The wine wasn't fantastic, though soft drinks, standard beer, and refillable water stations throughout the property were fine.
Pools, Sunbeds & Amenities
The main pool features a shallow splash section for toddlers. While the splash park was a bit babyish for our nearly four-year-old, she loved the bouncy dome slide. The playground area was a bit basic, but by the pool, there is a fantastic shared area where guests leave inflatables, goggles, and buckets and spades for others to borrow. Sunbed rules against reserving between 8:30 and 10:00 AM were respected; we easily secured 5 beds with umbrellas around 9:00 AM daily without issue. Towels require a refundable €20 deposit.
Entertainment & Activities
The animation team really sets this hotel apart. Downloading the Iberostar app is a must to keep track of daily schedules, which start with morning yoga or Pilates on the beach. Though our little one was too young for the main kids' club, she loved the daily drop-in arts and crafts (tie-dye, hat decorating, sand bottles) and the nightly mini disco. Evening entertainment was fun, featuring quality external acts and quizzes.
Overall, a well-maintained, easy-to-navigate hotel with outstanding, responsive service.

Wonderful
Well-trained, welcoming, engaging, and NEVER intrusive staff (the entire staff, entertainment team, waiters, bartenders, reception). A special thanks to Alice, one of the girls at the reception.
Wonderful location; it is not the first time we have been to Mallorca and Playa de Muro, but this Iberostar Waves hotel truly thrilled us.
The indoor restaurant is excellent; I usually do not like buffet restaurants, but this one was truly great in quality, variety, and quantity.
I do not recommend the outdoor restaurant facing the sea, however; the comparison with the other one does not hold up, it is far superior.
Thanks for everything; we will return and recommend it to everyone.

Incredible!!!
Everything was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we already had the room ready and it was better than we expected, with an incredible view. The service staff were always attentive. Santos gave us special attention, as did Marina, who made sure my grandson had his croquettes before we left.
Without a doubt, we will return!!!

Overall fab stay
My husband and I had an amazing time. The hotel was beautiful and comfortable.
The food delicious and plentiful. The gentleman who cooked the fresh chicken said hello to me every evening and tempered my name even with hundreds of people served daily. I felt the trainee staff at the pool bar where told off a lot and I found myself telling the main chefs to leave them alone. Just because my omelette looked like scrambled egg did not bother me in the slightest. I found in the restaurant, if you are a regular visitor you get better treatment. I loved the fresh food throughout the day and the pizzas were delicious.
Entertainment team fab but there where a couple that really stood out for me. I can't remember everyone's name but oussama, speed(ottman), salowa, ayobe and Mario where exceptional, there was also a older gentleman who ran a lot of the quizzes who had us in fits of laughter. There where a couple I didn't see much and rarely interacted.
Activities through the day where good but they did get super busy going into half term and some of the guests where just rude and obnoxious. It was nice you could get rackets and ping ball bats. It was frustrating that there was only one table available though.
I found one of the dancers (Hannah) to be approachable but the rest where rude and chose to ignore greetings and when they took over the activities they where stiff and dry. The shows where the same theme and once you've seen one, you've seen them all.
There was the odd quizz on a night which was fun and the singer for the downstairs bar was incredible. He is really talented! Now and again they put on karaoke but that entertainment space could be utilised more.
Bar staff, wonderful especially the men on the down stairs bar and pool bar. There was one young man who popped our champagne for us and usef on the pool bar who madey husband feel like a king. There where plenty of drinks and I loved i could just get a cup of coffee.
I found the downstairs bar where the entertainment was not to good. The most xers where flat and you had to walk up the stairs to get a proper decent drink. I also found out later on one the savings they had sangria as a cocktail of the day.. this had not been advertised properly and I missed out. Not much seating and it gets busy quickly. The whole area just needed to be sorted out better or the use of the bar in the show room needed utilised.
The reception staff where helpful but again there was one who stood out for me. Sara was the most beautiful person I have ever met. She was genuine, kind, approachable and nothing was too much for her.
I didn't like the people coming down and claiming beds and I think the comfy ones should have to be booked in time slots so people can get on one. I was here for a week and they where always covered with towels by the time we got there and was exceptionally frustrating when it was our last day. We had to vacate at 11 and wait until 18.40 for our transfer. We where exhausted as there was no where to rest. We had to hand our towel cards in and had no options but to sit with no towels for the day.
Beach was accessible and clean and the security where friendly and helpful.
Room was spacious and clean, the balcony was slightly exposed to others due to the shape but it was okay. No coffee/tea making facilities and the toilet was low flush, this wasn't great. Shower was lovely very and the washing products where a lovely touch.
There wasn't much close by and I had to walk for an hour to find a shop. The insight shop had bare minimal and very expensive. But I felt it was safe to walk out and about ony own and there are plenty of taxis around if you want to access shops or activities.
Spa was clean but it was expensive. You could go for a hammam in the town for 80 percent less than you pay in the hotel. The rooms where very very hot and I became quite light headed. But the scrub and massage was lovely. I did find it invasive whent they practically ripped of my bathing suit. I was quite uncomfortable.
Taking out cash - there was a cash machine but it charged you to use it. It was the only way to get cash as our card would not work properly.
It was genuinely one of the best breaks we've had but I'd like to see more kindness from the senior teams.
Thank you for a great holiday and we will be back. My husband would like to do golf and with us being members of IHG we may get a good return price.

This hotel gets better and better! Excellent Guest Relations and staff.
I have already reviewed this wonderful hotel but just wanted to acknowledge the excellent staff who go above and beyond to cater for us as a vegan family. Guest Relations (thank you Sheila and team) clearly listen to feedback and we were so impressed when we saw a “Vegan Corner” in the buffet restaurant at dinner time. On one evening Head Chef Christina went to great lengths to showcase her vegan culinary skills with a sumptuous selection of dishes. Please see photos.
