Very nice hostel close to Ella

What a wonderful place to stay in the beautiful nature of Ella. If you are looking to be grounded and relaxed, you are at the right place. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are served by request. The train to and from Ella by passes right here also, very nice scenery.

An Idyllic Stay Near Ella Rock

I stayed at this hostel for two nights, and it was absolutely worth it! While it may be a bit farther from Ella town, the location is stunning, nestled right by one of the trails that lead up to Ella Rock. The surroundings are truly idyllic, with beautiful landscapes and a peaceful atmosphere, making the distance more than worthwhile.
The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They even organized a delicious barbecue for us, which was a highlight of our stay. The entire place is spotlessly clean, with lovely indoor common areas and a charming porch where you can relax and enjoy meals.
One of the great perks of staying here is the easy access to the scenic railway tracks that lead into town. The walk along the tracks is beautiful, passing by natural pools and even a waterfall—a unique and enjoyable way to explore the area.
The hostel offers both dormitories with bunk beds and private bathrooms, as well as plenty of outdoor facilities, which made our stay much more comfortable and convenient, especially as we were traveling in a large group. They also provide a Jeep service for pick-ups, which was a great help.
On top of all this, the price is fantastic for what you get! Free tea and coffee are available all day, and you can even use the washing machine if needed. Overall, I highly recommend staying here, it's a hidden gem and a perfect base for exploring the beautiful surroundings of Ella Rock.

I keep coming back!

2nd time staying and will do it again. Everything was great as usual. The location is a bit of a bumpy drive though , yet easily accessibly via a 10 minute walk on the train track from Kithal Ella station. My favorite part of the hostel though is the staff, especially Dayarathna uncle who went above and beyond with his hospitality. I was a bit sick, and he made sure I had hot water every time, tea, and medicine. And also him and his team cooked really delicious food for us - we enjoyed these at the patio, with a view of the train tracks! They even gave us some sandwiches for free to eat on the train back to Colombo (they were so refreshing). The hostel itself is cool, a refurbished colonial house that's 100s of years old. Clean, comfortable, and overall a great experience.
PS: The hostel is right next to Ella Rock, so don't forget to do this hike! It was amazing.

Great place in the nature

The place is amazing, owned by very friendly and helpfull guy. Beds are very comfortable and also the linens smells great. Whole place is clean and you have plenty places to chill.. you are surrounded by nature, which is amazing.

Beautiful place out of the craziness that is Ella

This hostel is in a super beautiful place surrounded by nature and at the start of the Ella rock hike. They picked me up after the bus, and if you want to walk to town/from you can go on the railway tracks which is super beautiful. Friendly staff and free coffee/tea! It's really a wonderful place.
