If we go back to the island, this is where

We loved it all. The hotel wrote in advance how and when we come to meet us, although the transfer is not free, but 20 baht per person is generally a token payment. At 11:30, we're already checked in, fantastic, not waiting till lunch. Rooms are clean, on the balcony 2 sunbeds, exit to the sunny side, linen dries instantly. There are a lot of outlets in the room. The kettle turned out to be rusty inside, but we always have our road. If you do not denote cleaning the room, towels and water will be brought to you. Breakfasts are simple, but don't go hungry. There's everything near the hotel, and the pharmacy, and the massages, and a bunch of cafes - it's really the center of everything. If you want a golf cart - you'll find one, transfer to Ko Ko Koud - please take it directly from the pier here and take it to the hotel pier on Ko Koud. The only downside is the sea, you have to go a little north, 100 meters, it's nice there. If we decide to go back to Ko Mak, it's probably only here, since no negatives have been identified.

Too bad for the great view

Nice check-in welcome and pick-up service from the pier.
The lovely Thai I know certainly enough is missing from this resort. Lies around a lot instead of supplying or repairing. There would be time. Unfortunately only the most necessary made.
At Villa S1 extreme to forst, beautiful view of the sea and sunset however all run through in front because the non beach path (flood) goes through there.
Breakfast sufficiently varied.
Report room cleaning to reception and place slider at bungi, however, includes only wipe/wet pick up and Bettt do not set up a douche, lavabo, toilet. No funds available (WC).
Every day fresh douche towels which is luxury, however at 9 nights no fresh bed get only pillowcase.
Too few deckchairs for the number of bungis. Neighbor bar far too loud music with deviant bass, a pity for the ocean sounds could only sleep with earplugs. No blackout curtains just normal partw def would have to go new Velcro. Mattress urgently replace 2 large holes and no recovered nights!
Various pickles within easy walking distance and path illuminated
Pharmacy and small shop for essentials available.
We are no longer coming, there are other beautiful islands and Thailand where I hope the flair still exists.

Great staff and great location

Large south-facing hotel complex on the western part of Koh Mak.
Right next to the hotel is Ao Kao Beach Pier, so it is easy to get to and from the hotel by speedboat. Departure can be booked at the hotel.
If you choose to arrive by catamaran ferry, you can arrange pickup with the hotel for 20 baths per person.
You quickly notice that you have come away from the most tourist places. The area still looks like it did the more famous places at least 30 years ago with small restaurants, cafes and shops along the road. Many restaurants have a coal grill standing on the road where they prepare their food. Some will perceive it as authentic, while others will perceive it as primitive. Here, at least, there is peace and quiet without noisy outdoors and traffic noise. Very nice nature.
The hotel has all the amenities, but it is by no means a luxury.
The rooms are large, neat and clean, but like the rest of the hotel presses the age.
If you choose a room with sea views, it should be taken with caution as both forests and buildings take a large part of the view from some rooms. It might be more reasonable to talk about “looking at the sea” from these rooms.
We first stayed in a “super deluxe room” on the 1st floor and later in a “deluxe room” on the 2nd floor.
Super deluxe offers a giant corner room and a kind of extra outdoor room where you can sit in peace for the insects in the evening. There was also a very large terrace that continues around the corner. The view was slightly impaired as described above.
The next room on the second floor was not a corner room. Something less without outdoor space and only a small balcony for two sunbeds. We were lucky it was in the middle of the building and high up because we had a magnificent view. Overall much better despite lower price.
Both rooms had poor lighting especially in the bathroom, which made it difficult for the lady to make up and for me to shave myself in almost darkness.
The hotel is located right down to a fine sandy beach, although there are a couple of stones and pistes.
The sunbeds on the grass before the beach and at the pool are the traditional of white plastic but without mattresses and therefore hard to lie on. At the pool there are also some more comfortable sun loungers with canvas, but the pool and the area around it are not glamorous either in size or decoration.
There are no sun loungers or umbrellas on the beach itself next to the hotel as it is flooded by high water. At low water in the afternoon there is a narrow beach, and sun loungers are located by the small bars along the water.
Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
The hotel's restaurant has really good food at reasonable prices. The main dishes are large enough for two to share.
The bill can be placed on the room.
It only takes half an hour (1.8 km) to walk across the island to Ao Soun Yai Beach, from where you can reach Koh Kham Island. It is a nature reserve and it is truly the most beautiful nature experience and really worth the whole trip.

Needs renovation

If you want to be central you are right. The bungalows also seem to be quite ok.Only the rest leaves something to be desired.Breakfast is under all ...rooms in need of renovation no hand or bath towels you have to ask.Plastic plates for breakfast like in prison coffee.......drinks at home .The garden is also ok only pads for the plastic loungers would also not be a luxury.

We enjoyed out time at this resort. The property felt a little run down and tired, but it was clean and safe. There often weren't enough chairs around the pool, but the staff did eventually bring more up from the beachfront area. We didn't not experience any sandfleas (at the resort or elsewhere on the island). It was easy and affordable to rent a scooter at the resort.
