Cosy posada with a great host

I was a bit cautious because of the low price but from the start my stay at Juan‘s Posada Irsis was perfect! The room was situated on the lower floor in one of the modern wooden houses and very cosy with everything I needed. Breakfast was tasty with fresh juice and seasonal fruit, also the meals I had were recommendable and at a reasonable price. Juan is a perfect host giving the posada the right level of personal touch. He offered help with pick-ups and information about opening hours etc. which can be tricky when you visit off-season. I felt really welcome and can recommend a stay.

Relaxing Hideaway!

I arrived before the start of the summer season so I was the only guest staying. Juan and his girlfriend were wonderful hosts. We had engaging conversations during breakfast. And they invited me to lunch before the bus arrived just before my departure.
My room was spacious and quiet. Oh the birds squawked at sunrise in the eucalyptus in the mornings but that just added to the natural atmosphere. It beats traffic sounds.
I easily walked to the beach and into town.
Perfect room, perfect hosts, and perfect location adds up to a perfect stay. And if you are lucky, they will have delicious homemade soup.

Off the beaten path but well worth it

We ended up in Punta Rubia by luck. Juan, the owner & operator of this hostal and its restaurant (open seasonally) is an amazing host. Juan opened his doors to us without a reservation. He was excited to spend time with us, learn from us & teach us about his culture. We were a group of five who stayed in two rooms. One with a double bed and another room with a double bed & twin bed. The accommodations were bare & a bit rustic but certainly sufficient. Buses stop near Punta Rubia multiple times a day & Juan helped us with the bus schedule & informed us how to get to Cabo Polonia. We were here in the low season so it was very quiet - no restaurants open, few people but it is a stunning location with the beach just a 5 minute walk away. Very limited wi-fi access.

Great way to experience Rocha beaches.

Comfortable, if simple, inn near the beach and the town of La Pedrera. During the season there's a bar and restaurant serving interesting, eclectic cuisine. Juan, the innkeeper is both relaxed and attentive. He's created a setting that is very much in keeping with the low-key appeal and unspoiled beauty of the beaches east of Punta del Este. And Eneas is a talented and creative chef.

O quarto que fiquei era justo para 2 pessoas, mas não desconfortável. A qualidade do sono é boa e o chuveiro muito bom. Os destaques para mim são: a simpatia do Juan e o café da manhã. O único ponto negativo era que a internet não chegava no quarto.
