Rudi, Rudi, Rudi... Rudey....

Look I love funky, old charming hotels. And this joint is definitely funky and old. But this owner/manager guy, Rudi, he's is a complete "a" hole. We booked a double room and single for my daughter. My daughter couldn't make it. We cancelled 2 months in advance. He said it would be no problem.My wife and I we came, we stayed we left. There is no sign of a refund. I've called, emailed... you name it. "Rudi is talking to people, call back in 5 minutes." "Call back in a half an hour." "Call back in an hour." If Herr Rudi had said, hey, I can't give you a refund but I can give you a dinner, we'd have happily accepted it. Or just an acknowledgement. But giving me the run a round for weeks is just plain rude. And he made off with like 700 euros. And let's be even more honest, the room was dirty and sad. And like I said I like old hotels. One thing though, he does seem to hire decent employees. I had some great chats with the breakfast guy and the dinner waiter. I doubt they stay long.

Value for money-Atmospheric building

Nice,old building ,near the city center and the train station(15and 10 minutes on foot respectively),clean ,with strong Wi-Fi and polite staff.There is no lift,in some rooms the private wc is outside of the room and the breakfast has the elementary.It is easy to find parking on the road ,outside of the hotel.

Charming unspoilt hotel

A clean, tidy and friendly hotel with old world Munich atmosphere. Slightly timeworn but that just adds to its charm. Not for visitors who expect the conveniences of standardised modern hotels such as televisions, air conditioning or a lift but in exchange you get a matchless sense of place. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

Legging Art Nouveau hotel with original inventory

I am enthusiastic about the original Art Nouveau building and furnishings and gladly accept some loss of comfort. I have already been several times for one night at Mariandl wg. Work in Munich. Easily accessible: from the train station 9 minutes walk. I have always felt very comfortable. In the evening in the restaurant with live piano music. In quiet rooms. The original equipment is impressive. Staff was always friendly, devoted and helpful. At breakfast I was surprised by an "altmoid" device that allows me to boil my egg in a water bath without effort in a way that suits me exactly.
