I would not recommend the hotel.
The staff were polite enough, but they generally seemed disengaged and uninterested in their jobs. I never once saw them smile. The only person who stood out positively was the doorman, Raamu, who always greeted us with a smile and asked if we were doing well.
Another major issue was that all the window handles had been removed, making it impossible to air out the room – especially unpleasant after taking a shower. This created a feeling of being trapped.
The only positive thing was that the room was cleaned daily, but unfortunately, this does not change the fact that the stay overall was a very poor experience.

Our stay at 44 Oasis Hotel, Chennai – 3N/4D Stay
We checked in late at night and the room was ready. Initially, we had some concerns about the bathroom and requested a change. After a 20-minute wait (the receptionist was away for prayer), we were shown another room, but it wasn’t any better, so we stayed in the first one.
The room itself was spacious enough for a comfortable stay, but the biggest drawback was the bathroom. There was a constant bad odor, along with visible stains on tiles and flooring. The shower drain was clogged and waterlogging became an issue. Though the staff eventually fixed it after repeated follow-ups, the bathroom hygiene and upkeep could definitely be improved. I also overheard another guest complaining about the same problem, so it seems to be a recurring issue.
Amenities are basic—an empty fridge, iron, and average toiletries (I recommend carrying your own toothpaste). The buffet breakfast was decent and good value for money, with tea and coffee being quite nice.
Overall, this is a decent option if you have a packed itinerary and will only be using the hotel to sleep at night. But if you’re looking for a place to relax and spend more time in, the lack of bathroom maintenance and limited facilities may be a letdown.

An Excellent Stay
Each room has a tea kettle and some tea bags and instant coffee. The location is okay and is walking distance to many shops. Not too many restaurants but you can get almost anywhere in town for 150 INR. The staff and service are helpful and friendly.
The wifi is strong. The only issue I had, was the internet passcodes. You are given a piece of paper with a code which is good for two devices. Great. But, the codes expires frequently. I have two cellphones, a laptop and a Firestick and used about 4-6 codes per day. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay and if we ever come back to Chennia, we would stay here again.
