️ A little jewel in the heart of Vienna

I stayed in this guesthouse on the third floor of an elegant period building, with a fascinating vintage cage elevator. The location is simply unbeatable: a stone's throw from Graben, Stephansplatz, and Hofburg. Clean, spacious, and modern rooms, good breakfast even if it must be eaten in the room.
Very central location, a few steps from the main attractions
Clean, spacious, and well-furnished rooms, comfortable beds
Generally kind and helpful staff
Historic building with a very characteristic vintage elevator
No breakfast room: you are required to eat in your room
Mediocre breakfast (also due to space limitations)
The curtains do not block the light well
Not suitable for those who are light sleepers. In the morning you can hear people getting breakfast, and the noise of the coffee machine
Reception open only in the morning/early afternoon, no 24-hour service
Dated plumbing system: absolute prohibition against throwing paper in the toilet (risk of a charge of up to €200)

A little gem in superb location. Excellent quality and flexible service.

The location is dead central, within easy walk of many central attractions plus the U-bahn. A second floor property accessed by old style cage lift. Reception is staffed until noon and I was allowed into my room at 10am. I had booked a small double but my room was anything but small. The bed was supersized and super comfortable, and there was an actual bath in the bathroom! All the facilities of a quality hotel room were available. One important thing to note is that toilet paper must be put into a bin and not flushed. Nothing you won’t experience on a Greek island! Breakfast is self service basic buffet (including bread rolls, old cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, jams, cereals, juice, yoghurts, fruit) and taken on a tray to your room. After checking out I was able to leave my bag for collection later. Very simple, efficient system - quite the unexpected gem.

CLEANLINESS AND COMFORT JUST A STEP AWAY FROM THE CENTER

We stayed at this establishment for two nights and three days and we were pleasantly surprised and satisfied.
We had booked a superior room with three beds, but upon our arrival, they offered us the opportunity to stay in the Junior Suite. A true large apartment equipped with every comfort, including a kitchen that we could use at our leisure (we didn't need it as we always had dinner and lunch out).
The breakfast is excellent; the selection is not vast, but there is still the option to choose between sweet and savory.
Check-in is done via phone, while for check-out, there is a staff member at the reception.
The entrance and the instructions for completing it are easy to understand and very quick.
The most outstanding merit is definitely the location, very central, convenient for the metro stop, and just two minutes on foot from Stephansplatz!
Highly recommended.

Unacceptable behavior

Really unacceptable behavior from this accommodation where while we paid 218 euros for a night no one was interested in informing us about how to check in!!! We went there not knowing that there would be no one and finally stayed overnight out of the accommodation!!! Well heard they left us out not answering the phone calls and as soon as they saw the endless messages in the morning they blocked us in the booking to not leave a comment. In response they said that they had sent a message, 15 days before the booking was made, to contact which we did not receive...!!! There was no update of their shame

Downtown

The location is exceptional, the period building where the guesthouse with the glass elevator is located a marvel.
The room (4) much larger than I expected having read the reviews, with two huge windows overlooking the main street where the carriages with horses pass; room also very practical as
spaces, sockets, support point .. should be cleaned a little deeper, that yes ..
essential breakfast but a good mix of sweet and savory, and I did not mind at all bring it to the room and have quiet breakfast alone, indeed ..
only thing: water is missing; it says
that the bathroom one is drinkable but give a bottle of water for breakfast, even just to share with other guests seems the minimum.
Dear owners who have always responded to our emails very quickly and gave us all the details to get from the airport.
