Planned to have dinner at the hotel, when seated they’re almost out of everything.
They had multiple pizzas on the menu and wasn’t able to serve a margarita but a Diablo worked, which is very strange.

This place was mediocre. It served its purpose while our family explored Munich for a few days but wasn’t super comfortable. It’s a little dirty and worn out. Not well appointed in the hotel room.

A bit worn out by now

We had the penthouse suite again for a week with the view over the rooftops.
This time we had the impression that many things seemed more worn out than in the past. For instance, the table on the terrace was falling apart. Due to the weather.
The kitchen equipment was incomplete. We had to reorder plates, cutlery, and glasses. Actually not a big problem, but annoying nonetheless. Help was also provided immediately.
But what was really annoying was that the elevator, specifically the largest of the three, was broken for almost the entire week and still was when we departed. You could end up waiting 10 minutes for the right elevator to come down from the seventh floor. Something similar was of course also the case in the direction going up. When mentioned at the reception, they only thanked us for the feedback, but it didn't seem like anyone was going to take care of it. For such a renowned hotel, I think it is a no-go that an elevator does not work for almost a week.
I have one more small thing to complain about. The pool could only be used very early in the morning, as it was populated by children during the day and into the night. Too bad. The pool is fundamentally too small for this large hotel.
Ultimately, however, the Wunderlocke concept outweighs this, so we will certainly book again. It would be nice if you would still take care of bringing the hotel up to the latest current standard.

Vielen Dank für das ehrliche und detaillierte Feedback, Erhard! Es tut uns leid wegen der Aufzugausfälle und der Mängel, aber wir nehmen uns das zu Herzen, um uns zu verbessern.
Best wishes, Nino & Wunderteam

Average stay

Overall I rate our stay 3 stars. There's a mixture of positive and negatives based on our experience with Wunderlocke Sendling. First of all, we were not told about the 50 euro per night deposit required. This was newly implemented, so nothing was mentioned on our original booking. 200 euros had to be taken from our holiday spend allocation to cover the deposit, with 2 children travelling with us that is a lot of money. Most places take a credit card as security for any damages.
The A/C worked intermittently, and not at all during our last night. We stayed here during the heatwave so it was incredibly hot. Neither us or our children slept properly that night which is especially annoying the night before our flight.
The room was nicely laid out with everything you might need, although the safe didn't work and the kettle was broken (it boiled over and wouldn't switch off unless manually turn it off).
The restaurant was quite expensive and we had almost an hour wait for food (at this time the restaurant was about quarter full), when asked how our food was we explained it was cold due to it being sat waiting for service for some time, wtih 'OK' as a response. No offer of discounting the bill. The food was nice, albeit cold.
The rooftop bar was a nice addition, but please not it is only stair access once you reach the 7th floor - if you have accessibility needs, pushchairs or small children.
The staff were pleasant as were the bar staff. However, we asked where the closest supermarket was and was advised either Marienplatz or further afar than the city centre. This is not true, there is an Edeka, Aldi and Rossman a 10 minute walk away just before you reach Siemenswerke train station. A small detail that would be highly useful for none locals, and would have saved us spending quite a lot of money at the bar for drinks for the children during our first night - we landed on a Sunday with only a small amount of time to spare to grab essentials.
The hotel is very modern inside, with a nice bar, restaurant and reception area. There's a nice outdoor seating area next to the pool.
Overall, based on our experience I would probably look elsewhere before choosing Wunderlocke Sendling again.
