Excellent Hotel

We stayed at the Hotel The Ranikhet Continental for a night with family and absolutely loved it! Excellent property and it only gets more breathtaking when you take a walk on the terrace. High quality rooms with all the facilities and the staff were all without exception friendly, helpful and efficient. The owner of this property Mr D C Pandey himself interacted with us and made our stay very comfortable and pleasant.

Not a hotel I can recommend

The location of this hotel is a bit away from the twon, up on a hill. While that location offers seclusion, there is no advantage in terms of view. Some Himalayan peaks are visible on a clear morning, but not from the rooms. From balcony outside, if your room has one, or from the open terrace, it is partially visible as the hotel is in a corner. The trees around and the solar devices on the terrace block the view.
The hotel is spartan in terms of room amenities. The room sizes are small, cold, and cramped. Furniture are rudimentary. Furnishings not at all impressive. Bathroom does not have a dry area. We had a leaky bathroom, so we changed the room.
Cooking is ordinary, and the food was just ok. Parking is open in front.
Due to its location on a hill, the reception is on the top, and the rooms are below. Access to the rooms is through a steep staircase, negotiating which is a very big challenge for anyone with slightest knee trouble. So, be warned that this hotel is not knee-friendly.

Worst experience

Rooms: Too small
Balcony: No view of skyline, only a few trees
Food: Oily. Bhaturas were exceptionally bad, difficult to chew, toast was cold and burnt, butter was frozen, no breakfast buffet as is the norm in any 3 star hotel, service slow and unresponsive
Air conditioning: No room heater in winter. So How is it air- conditioned? If not, how can you call it a 3 star hotel?
Room service: Unresponsive, making commitments they don’t intend to keep, finding fault with the customer instead of improving their performance
Overall: Look for a better hotel. Don’t go by cooked up reviews. Read the negative reviews. Why do all of them say the same thing? Are all of them lying? Are all of them exceptional customers? Or are they the only ones telling the truth? THINK before you CHOOSE!

THE BEST HOTEL OF RANIKHET

The location, Himalaya view, cleanness, hygenic property with ultimate tasty food
The staff is cooperative and benign. They used a high quality linens and the ultimate is the return gift local cuisine given by them
