Paradise is here

In early July, after years, we finally fulfilled our dream: we stayed in this delightful family-run beachfront hotel for a week of relaxation, beauty, culture, and good food, and leaving was an immense sorrow, because Gisella and Giovanni welcomed us incomparably, reserving every attention for us. Our rooms, spacious and tastefully furnished, were beachfront and in the morning we could enjoy an exceptional sunrise, before having a rich breakfast outdoors and enjoying the cool breeze. At dinner and sometimes even at lunch we then tasted the dishes of the excellent restaurant: we will not forget a single dish prepared by the owners' mother, we were left speechless by her skill (we still dream of the bundt cake)!
An immense greeting to the whole staff from Lilla's group, we hug you tight!

Family friendly, beautiful setting, delicious food

We went here for an evening meal, it is a beautiful setting and the family who run this business were so friendly and accommodating. The food and wine was delicious, we ended up going back for breakfast the next day. They had laid out a huge selection just for us. Again, it was delicious and such a pleasure. Great value as well, highly recommend a visit slightly off the beaten track.

So much to improve.

Despite the good location I would not recommend it, for the rough management, the smell of the room (perhaps due to unkept old furniture and unrefreshed walls) and for the cleanliness and Service with so many gaps. Finally we were presented with a bill of 15 days. Instead of 13 and we had to convince the manager, very nervous and insistent, that she was wrong; finally after 10 minutes of discussion she noticed the mistake without apologizing.
Despite this she got the 200 euro bill wrong again, at which point my husband did it for her. Very kind instead Mr. Giovanni.

Traditional restaurant with great food and wine selection

We stayed at the restaurant: traditional cuisine of excellent workmanship and careful selection of local wines. Absolutely recommended for dinner. The family business offers a remarkable quality guarantee. It's not a hit-and-run tourist spot.

Restaurant for tourists

Return several years later , obvious journey “from the stars to the stables” , perhaps the generational change has not done this restaurant any good, disproportionate prices for food quality , use of frozen food , really reduced and “poor” menu compared to before , clear maximisation of earnings (very low expenditure on products and very high income) , has become a typical tourist restaurant.
P.s before was one of the best in Salina.

Quando verrà veramente a trovarci capisce che siamo le stesse identiche persone degli ultimi 38 anni ,
palesemente falsa in tutto quello che scrive , prezzi uguali degli ultimi 3 anni., ma come di fa' a scrivere min....te?
Compriamo il pesce insieme la mattina che sa tutto lei dii prezzi e quanto è l introito ? Incredibile!!!poi.....Ahhhh ok parecchi anni ....quindi parliamo dei tempi delle lire ))) dayee...facciamo passare un po' di anni forse torna la lira e magari verrà veramente a trovarci...cordialmente G
