Oh Mountain View... how we miss you! Thank you Giovanni, Nathalie and our Kenyan friend. It was an amazing stay. Staff was so nice and very helpful with everything. Breakfast was super, with a lot of choices and very tasty. Best part: fresh mango juice every morning, home made by the chef Giovanni who taught us a lot about the nature in Seychelles and we had very nice talks everyday at breakfast. The hotel is situated upon a hill, so yes, you need to be ready for that because the only way to get there is with bicycles/walk or the taxi when you first arrive. Otherwise the hotel is situated nicely, with the nature as a view and beaches in all directions. Don´t underestimate the dinner at the hotel, the fish soup was excellent- give it a try! Room very nice, very clean and you can rent bikes at the hotel. The only thing was the pool, don´t choose the hotel for the pool, and the island tax or whatever it was we had to pay- only there, nowhere else.. Well in total, we had an unforgettable stay! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

Never again!

I usually hate to write negative reviews, but this place was unfortunately a cheek.
The first impression was still positive: The room was large and relatively newly decorated. We were told that we could use four water bottles. We also rented the bikes through the hotel, as the prices were comparable to the surrounding rental companies. However, the hill on which the hotel stands is very steep and the access road heavily washed out – you should know that.
Breakfast:
Breakfast was fine. There was tea, soluble coffee, water, two juices, pancakes, croissants, toast, jams, yogurt, fresh fruit and very delicious, freshly prepared omelets. However, if you arrive a little later (about 8:15 a.m.), it can happen that the pancakes and also the toast slices are already off.
Problems in the room:
Unfortunately, we had a water damage in the room, which we reported immediately. The repair should take several hours, which was consistent with our excursion plans. In the evening, the damage was repaired, but the Wi-Fi did not work anymore. We also did not get new towels – although we had to use the existing ones to absorb the water and these were accordingly dirty.
Exchange of rooms without comprehensible reason:
Last night we were told that we had to vacate our room as a family needed our bigger room. Since double bookings can occur, we agreed and changed rooms.
In the new room, however, water immediately leaked from the air conditioning. The caretaker repaired the damage, but it was again an unnecessary stress.
The next morning we noticed that the people who had moved into our old room had no children at all – so why we really had to change remains questionable.
Finally:
We had to pay for the water bottles described previously as free – according to the reception we had “got it wrong”.
Conclusion:
La Digue – always happy to return.
Mountainview Hotel – never again.
We will also share this experience with our travel agency and on other platforms so that other travellers do not have the same problems.

Beautiful place but high

Sense of Detail and Welcoming on Arrival.
Nice surprise discovering the place, everything is neat, luxurious, clean and pleasant.
Nature lovers and sportsmen, go for it! But from my 31 and fit the climb was rough. I don't necessarily recommend a family without a shuttle. Charm has a price..
Although we didn't come for that we enjoyed sharing a movie with the free Netflix account in the living room and having a drink on the spacious terrace.
Everything is well thought out (better than at home)
A place I recommend without hesitation

I liked the view from my room and balcony. I had a view of a mountain and green leafs trees were so close you can almost touch them. The room, balcony, and the bathroom were all spacious. Hotel was quiet and perfect for relaxation. If you plan to take many bike rides you should be aware of the up the hill location of the hotel. A few times I gave up my bike and walk around the area instead.
