One of the best in Annaba
The hotel have two pools our kids enjoyed swimming there.

However, the toilet in the room leaked water onto the floor, which was less than ideal.
Our room also had a balcony which backed onto the pool. The pool was very pleasant itself and there was a cafe which served good pizzas beside it. However, the cafe played incredibly loud music for most of the day (until around 19.30 on our last day). This is ok if you are simply looking to spend time by the pool or elsewhere in Annaba. Yet, if you are planning to spend time in your room, it is highly disruptive.
In terms of food, although the pizza was good, the breakfast included largely stale pastries, which did not make for a good start to the day.
The location is good for visiting the ruins of Hippo Regius, the basilica of St Augustine and the museum attached to the Roman site. These are excellent visits. However, the hotel is quite far from the centre of Annaba, so a taxi should be taken to reach any activities (including restaurants) there.

Awful Hotel - Western Travellers Avoid
I will start with the only positive. The air conditioning was very effective, which was necessary considering the outside air temperature was over 40C.
Our room was cramped and no water was provided in the mini-fridge, something that all other hotels in Algeria have provided.
The bathroom was a travesty. The shower dribbled water down itself, and was part rusted through. The toilet was constantly leaking, causing water to pool by the side. The water pressure for both the shower and tap was abysmal. There was also a terrible smell in the bathroom, possibly caused by the stagnant water.
Do not be deceived by the photos of the swimming pool outside. Although the pool itself is fine, the young men who run it insist on playing dreadful music from 10:00 AM - 19:00 at an extreme volume. I cannot properly express how terrible this was.
The breakfast was stale and inedible; we could only have the water and coffee in the end. The people at the front desk also asked for our room key each day to check who we were; this was inappropriate considering the initial document checks during check-in.
It is also in a terrible location; walking into Annaba is too far (over 40 minutes), and though it is close to the Roman site at Hippo Regius, there are no shops or cafes in the vicinity. If you’re staying in Annaba, AVOID the Sidi Brahim hotel!
