Another fabulous stay! We can’t wait for our next holiday stay at the Mantra Amphora, our favourite place to stay and relax when we visit Cairns and Palm Cove.

Rundown apartment in desperate need of renovating.

We had a 1 bedroom apartment for $330 pernight a supposed 4 star property. The state of the apartment certainly lacked the top quality finishes the resort professes to have. Ben linen was torn, paint and plaster need repairing. Inside furniture stained that we couldn't bring ourselves to sit on. Outdoor furniture very weather damaged. Wooden outdoor divider between units rotting. Mouldy and dirty tiles outside. Pool area was lovely.

I would give this 5 stars for location and proximity to the beach, restaurants and more but the few things that didn't work well for me were the lack of internet throughout the property so I had to work from the lobby which wasn't always open. I also felt like there was a lack overall. They have the opportunity to greet guests with coffee in the lobby but don't. The restaurant at the property isn't considered part of the hotel so when trying to order wine and go to my room, I couldn't because they were separate. I just felt like they were missing the mark. The gates getting around are a pain, no help with luggage, no internet, meh. I'd stay here again but no good wifi was a deal killer for me.

Lovely hotel with a few glitches

The hotel was lovely, and the pool was beautiful. Our room was clean, modern and spacious. We especially enjoyed the spa bath.
Sadly, some aspects were not as advertised- such as having no shuttle from the airport, which had influenced our choice to book. Similarly, the high speed wifi was low speed and patchy at best, at other times completely unusable. We were also a little disappointed to find out it was unserviced apartments, which was hidden in the fine print.
Despite this, our stay was overall quite good, we loved the location and amenities. I would recommend staying here, but be sure you know what you are signing up for.

Palm Cove is a great location and the hotel was across a fairly quiet road from the main beach, near to a number of very good restaurants / cafes to suit all pockets.
The hotel was very clean and the room a good size with good amenities. The furnishings were a little tired but this did not detract from the overall comfort of the space.
Internet reception on Wi-Fi is very slow due to Palm Cove’s location.
Overall I would recommend the hotel for a stay.
