Poor customer service and cleanliness, noisy and uncomfortable
The access code provided to us would not work to access the room we had been assigned. By chance, we happened to try the code on the next room over (as the car park was empty and the motel appeared empty) - and our code had been programmed to the room next door, which was dirty - towels on the floor, bed unmade, rubbish and food on the floor. We had to call the reception number 5 times before anyone answered and there was no apology or care for the inconvenience while we had been standing outside in the cold and dark unable to access our room or contact anyone for assistance.
The rooms are small, bed uncomfortable, there were watermarks on the bathroom floor indicating it had not been mopped, spilled food in the bedroom that had not been wiped up, lots of noise from the highway, and a sign stating that if the steam from the shower sets off the smoke alarm you’ll be charged $500, yet no extraction fan in the bathroom

Nice and clean with a comfortable bed which makes all the difference between good and bad.

Horrid customer service
Booked my room through booking.com with the “no prepayment-pay on arrival” option, my card decline a transaction they tried to take out 4 days before booking and when I called to try and fix it, I was told my booking was cancelled and that “no prepayment-pay on arrival” did not mean that you pay on arrival ~ despite this being within my confirmation email. This was fine though as I was happy to pay on the phone, however when I tried to ask about what might have gone wrong I was cut off multiple times either by Alana stating that their T&Cs are different to booking.com or that they were a small business. This was fine but when i asked her to please allow to to finish my question and I tried again to ask she told me that she had her first call at 6am, and that she was too tired and did not want to further discuss. She said “you’re welcome to try your luck somewhere else but given its a long weekend it was not likely”. I told her I was happy to try my luck. We were stopping over on our way to Adelaide with accomodation I had already paid there, for on a road trip to and from Uluru. We planned to stay at Rest Motel for the trip up to check out the caves and perhaps stay again on the way back. Given they are such a small business I would recommend she tries a customer service course, or perhaps a nap. She could at the very least learn to allow someone to ask a question without interrupting so that Rest Motels can gain business.

Shonky dealings
Booked for a week, but then unable to go on trip. Called to cancel 3 days beforehand to be told there is no cancellations allowed at all. I booked through their website, and nowhere on the website did it say there was no cancellations allowed. Lost all of my money. Really not happy
