In the old town center, we are surprised by the historic inn from the 17th century, run by artistically inclined hosts. The atmosphere is a mix of art, bric-a-brac, and down-to-earth charm. Access is often only through the wooden side gate, leading to a cobblestoned semi-open courtyard where one looks for a reception. From a side room, a horn honks monotonously, while the temporary help dreamily polishes cutlery in the vault but understands nothing. However, we are greeted by the black retriever. More guests are still waiting to check in. After some reception ringing, the musician partner arrives and calls the manager. On the first floor, there is a replacement maid who prepares the reserved rooms at 4 PM, which we can check into at 5 PM. We push the bikes into a wooden shed. The house has very old, quaint, but renovated structure; unfortunately, there are no curtains, only a roller shade. Despite the modern TV and shower, the room features refurbished furniture, giving it a touch of the Middle Ages. There is still time until dinner (not until 7 PM) with a very limited selection. Our order of a Veltliner spritzer seems too good for the wine. Then our special request for a simple schnitzel is fulfilled after all. Ilse, the manager, at least makes an effort for the well-being of her guests. Breakfast is again attended to in the morning by a guesthouse helper with a dog; the baker supposedly missed the house supply. Everything somehow gives an improvised impression. Sorry, but we find the elevated price-performance ratio inappropriate as experienced.

Stylish, atmospheric, sympathetic

I stopped here on a ten-day bike ride. (Life) style, atmosphere and quality are simply top at the Eberhard! Thanks to the friendly (also kitchen) chef Ilse, who makes the Eberhard a real experience! This was by far the best stop on this trip! Thanks again!

Heaven on Earth

This is the most wonderful inn on God's earth! It's beautiful, the food is amazing, the landlords unique... I would also go there if it wasn't so nice all around....
But for God's sake, don't say that, otherwise we won't have the insider tip to ourselves anymore..

Wow – was für ein himmlisches Kompliment! Herzlichen Dank für diese liebevollen Worte – sie haben uns ehrlich gerührt (und ein bisserl zum Schmunzeln gebracht). Es freut uns riesig, dass ihr euch bei uns so wohlgefühlt habt und unsere Küche, die Umgebung und natürlich auch wir als Team so einen Eindruck hinterlassen haben.
