Holmesdale House is the oldest house in the City of Duncan. It was built in 1881 by Reverend David Holmes, an Anglican minister sent to "Cowichan" to work with the local peoples. He was a major contributor to the early days of Duncan development; from bringing a mill onto his property to built not only this home but to provide timber for the new town. He constructed 7 churches in the area. St. Peters is still standing and is a fully functioning Anglican church today. So staying here is staying in a part of history! Lovingly restored to a 1910 Victorian era home, youll find the historical feel of the period but with all the modern amenities creatively included.
