Great family-run hotel in a prime location

The hotel is centrally located in the Bamberg pedestrian zone. Everything is wonderfully accessible on foot, and even a parking option is just a 10-minute walk away. The rooms are lovingly furnished, and the hotel has a lot of charm; you can tell that people with hospitality are at work here.
The breakfast in the cozy lounge provided a wonderful start to the day.

Very family-run hotel

Super nice staff, good breakfast with fresh, sliced fruit. Everyone is trying very hard to make everything possible!

Time out in Weierich with girlfriends

We were in February 2026 with friends at the Weierich and can really recommend the hotel without restriction.
The location is central. Luggage can be conveniently unloaded directly in front of the hotel, and there is an underground car park just a few minutes' walk away, where you can easily park for more than a day. Upon entering the hotel, the loving design immediately stands out: tasteful decoration combined with old building elements. It does not seem cheesy at all, but rather invites you to discover the many details.
In the hotel lobby, which also houses the reception, there are numerous cosy seating options and a coffee machine. There you can get various coffee and tea specialities outside of breakfast times for a small fee.
From the large stairwell you can access the room floors with a modern elevator. The rooms themselves are sometimes charmingly crooked – typical of older houses – but very nice and contemporary. The mattresses were a bit too soft for us personally, but that is of course a matter of taste.
Breakfast can be described as intercontinental: The choice is not huge, but there are all the essentials – freshly prepared and without individually packaged products.
We would like to highlight the common room – especially for families or groups. There are games and various glasses available. There is also a refrigerator in the stairwell with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at fair prices. We spent a very nice evening here without disturbing anyone.
Even if we traveled without a dog, we noticed positively that dogs are really welcome in Weierich – not just tolerated.

warm room on a cold winter evening

We arrived in Bamberg in super cold weather and without a hotel booking. Very glad to find this excellent hotel, offering a well-heated room at a good rate. Beautifully renovated old house, with a very decent breakfast served in the vaulted Stube! Extremely friendly staff. We'd love to come back.

Service orientation shows up in exceptional situations

Fire alarm. All guests had to leave the rooms, including people with walking problems. The alarm rang for twenty minutes – but no firefighters came. This seemed highly unusual given the situation and unsettled many. Only then did a young employee appear, cut off the signal and tersely declared that it was a malfunction. She responded to inquiries only briefly, with a brief apology, without further information. So legitimate concerns were simply brushed away. Many guests did not feel taken seriously, but abandoned.
Especially in an emergency situation, clear information and a minimum of respect are needed. Instead, perplexity, annoyance – and the impression of arrogance – remained.
