A good choice for our overnight stop

Can't fault it. Just what we needed. Easy parking on site. We had dinner in the restaurant on the same site. Also good. It is a bit far out for walking into Meissen, but we drove through the next morning. Must visit again, when we are not driving 800 miles in two days.

Disappointing

The DZi unheated, heating brought no heat / only moderately clean / mattresses completely sagged and bad / only 1 completely unshaped pillow / bathroom worn, instead of shower only bathtub with old curtain / the included breakfast was in the conservatory of the neighboring pizzeria, no buffet, only per person put together plate with various sausage and cheese variants, jam only available after repeated demand, the ordered scrambled eggs tasted of old fat

I arrived at 6pm and the hotel was closed. I rang the bell and fortunately someone replied on the intercom. My key was in a loxk box next to the door and I was given the pin to open it. I was told to arrive before 8, not 6.
The hotel is a 10 minute drive from downtown.

In the middle of the green

Siebeneichen is a small, simple hotel, probably mainly for seminars. If you are a train traveller like us and you get off the S-Bahn station and realise that there are no taxis there and you have neglected to plan another alternative, you first have to climb a hill with a 14 percent gradient for a few hundred metres. Of course, this has the advantage that when you get to the top, it is very quiet and very green. The reception is manned during the day, but if not, you can pick up your key from the restaurant, which is in the building next door. The rooms are big enough, everything you really need is there. Breakfast is prepared by the restaurant mentioned in an adjacent building. We have never seen so much chopped cold cuts and cheese. Everything is actually there, but everything is under the heading of "absolute frugality". The hospitality and generosity that you constantly encounter down in the village unfortunately did not make it up the hill. It is very positive that the dogs we met in the hotel were very happy with their choice of can opener. There is a lot of space and greenery around the hotel.
There were no cups or drinking mugs in the room, no fridge and no minibar, and there was no way to make coffee or tea. Breakfast: cheap products served in small bites. When we checked out, we asked about drinking vessels in the room and were told that they were available downstairs at reception when it was manned.

A nice little gem on the hill overlooking Meissen

Nice, Quiet, Clean and a 10 minute walk to the city center... Comfortable beds and an amazing continental breakfast... Reception staff was very welcoming and helpful with directional assistance to the must-see places..Highly recommended!!!
