Great little hotel, comfortable and in a central location.

Great central location. Easy to find pay parking opposite in large multi-storey.
Very comfortable room. Very good breakfast with helpful staff. I loved the cosy Bavarian styled breakfast room/restaurant. Very easy to walk to all the shops, central Altstadt squares, park and cultural highlights. A lovely stay.

Good Intentions

The Stadtkrug was comfortable, and the breakfasts were good, but overall it was just a bit off kilter in almost every respect. The parking was hard to get in and out of, the lift was balky and too small for a suitcase, the wifi was intermittent, the front desk was rarely attended, and even as a modest German speaker, I found it difficult to communicate with the staff.

No frills, no perks.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Stadtkrug as part of a group reunion, and found it to be pretty average on the whole. That being said, it was the cheapest room we stayed in during the whole trip, and the price can't be beat!
The rooms are small, like big enough for a bed and maybe a small desk, but that's about it. There was a cabinet in the room as well, but we did not use it. Our room faced another building, so we couldn't really ever have the curtains open as we noticed on several occasions people staring into the room. The bathroom was adequate, again, nothing special. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Weiden, within easy walking distance to the city center and shopping. That was very nice.
The restaurant and the service was good. I will say they did an excellent job of keeping pace with our group and food was good as well. The breakfast in the morning had a lot of different options, I was quite fond of the musli they had in there.

Old World Charm

This is an ancient building dating to the 1350's. The building has been updated with a lift, thank goodness. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and quiet.
Restaurant serves wonderful breakfast. Great location!

Excellent hotel

What a top hotel and restaurant! Knock the socks of anything in England and costs half as much! Brilliant staff especially the small blonde haired in reception/bar/restaurant!!
Had two meals which were exceptional!! A plus!!!
