10/10 loved our stay!!! highly recommend
This hotel was absolutely fabulous, we were so happy here for the entirety of our stay and couldn’t believe how cheap it was. Marina was absolutely wonderful a real salt of the earth person, she learned all of our names and would walk around the hotel and greet the guests. We had a good hour long conversation with her whilst we were at the pool and she was so lovely and welcoming to us. There is a lovely swim up bar in the pool with decently priced drinks such as mojitos and smoothies, that was really lovely aswell. The hotel itself is so idyllic it feels like a perfect little greek hotel and it is so beautiful. Our room was a triple room with all the basics, it wasn’t the most flashy room but it served us very well and had more than enough considering the price we paid, we also had a gorgeous veranda where you can look out on the port. In terms of location you are right in the heart of the port, there are shops, restaurants and bars all around however for the nightlife and the main strip it’s a 15 minute walk however it’s all completely uphill with lots of flights of stairs however we found it really easy to get taxis even late at night as the clubbing scene starts a lot later in ios and the taxis are all really resonably priced. The walk down is really easy too as it’s all downhill and it’s just a direct path of stairs back down to the port so you don’t have to pay a taxi for the way back. There is a flight of stairs to get up to the hotel itself which I read a bad review on before we came however it really wasn’t that bad at all, when we first arrived marina offered to help us with our luggage and there is also a luggage lift however we packed light so we were fine. The stairs are slightly tiring but not something that should put you off the hotel as its so beautiful and again really not that far, that review made it out a lot worse than it was. There is a beach by the port however we only went there once as it was very seaweedy however there’s a beautiful beach a 10 minute bus away for 2€ which we loved. You can also get the bus to chora (the nightlife) however it stops at midnight and we went out a bit later so we opted for a taxi (make sure you have cash though cause it’s cash only) and again that is only 2-€ each way. Overall we will definitely be staying here again it was absolutely stunning and we had a great time, if you are coming for the nightlife it’s also really nice to not have your hotel in the center of all of that and be in a quieter area so that you can sleep well and chill in the day. Definitely reckoned to anyone and i’m not normally a review person but I knew I had to write one for this hotel as it was just so lovely, thank you marina you were amazing and we will be back!! from mia,amber and liv xx

Warm Hospitality, Perfect Location, and a Pool with a View ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Poseidon during my recent trip to Ios, and it completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed like family. Marina and the team go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels at home — whether it’s helping with local tips, arranging transportation, or simply greeting you with a smile every morning.
The location is fantastic — just a short walk from the port, with beautiful views over the harbour. My room was spotless, comfortable, and bright, with a balcony perfect for enjoying a morning coffee. The pool area is a real highlight: clean, peaceful, and with plenty of loungers for relaxing after a day exploring the island.
What really stood out was the genuine warmth of the staff and the excellent value for money. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at ease, and it made my stay in Ios all the more memorable.
If you’re looking for a friendly, well-located hotel with great facilities and a personal touch, Hotel Poseidon is an excellent choice. I’ll definitely be coming back

The most perfect stay with the most beautiful hosts! We were so well looked after and cannot wait to come back!
If I could give Hotel Poseidon more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. We stayed here for part of our honeymoon, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a hotel – it was a home.
This is a truly family-run hotel in every sense of the word, and the warmth, kindness, and care from the owners is unlike anything I’ve experienced in all my years of travelling. They genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. We had booked our stay very last minute and arrived far earlier than check-in because of our ferry, yet they immediately went above and beyond to prepare our room early. Not only that, but they surprised us with beautiful flowers and homemade biscuits to celebrate our honeymoon – such thoughtful, personal touches that meant the world to us.
The hotel itself is spotless – our room was bright, airy, and perfectly clean, with everything we needed. The location couldn’t be more convenient: right next to the port, surrounded by great restaurants, and only moments from the bus stop, making it so easy to get to Chora or explore the rest of the island.
Halfway through our stay, I fell unwell, and their kindness reached a whole new level. They checked in on me, made sure I was comfortable, and did everything they could to help me feel better – small gestures that spoke volumes about the sort of people they are. Then, when bad weather meant our ferry off the island was cancelled, they instantly reassured us and let us stay another night, removing all the stress from what could have been a difficult situation.
In a world where so many hotels feel impersonal, Hotel Poseidon is the most wonderful reminder of what hospitality should be – genuine, heartfelt, and full of care. We left feeling like we’d stayed with friends, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
I can’t understand why anyone would leave a negative review here. If you are kind and decent people, that is what you get in return and I can only imagine that those finding fault are doing so because they themselves weren’t the best of guests. We had numerous things go wrong during our stay in Ios (none of which were to do with the hotel) but the owners of this hotel went above and beyond to make sure that none of these things impacted our stay. I truly cannot recommend this place enough and I really would encourage people to take any negative reviews with a pinch of salt.
If you’re visiting Ios, do yourself a favour and book here. You won’t just find a clean, comfortable, beautifully located hotel – you’ll find the kindest hosts who will make you feel truly at home. We will remember them, and our stay, forever.

Terrible experience do not recommend
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I’ve been coming to Ios for 5 years and this is the worst hotel experience I have had. The rooms are not clean there were stains on the sheets and ants in the bed when I woke up in the morning. I stayed here for one night even though I had booked 6 because I was so unhappy. I was refused a refund and while I was offered another room I was so unhappy I just wanted to leave. Upon letting them know about what had happened I was asked if I was unhappy because I was there alone which hurt my feelings even more.

Bad service! Deceitful! Thieves!
Don’t reserve don’t use their transportation to or from the airport they will tell you deceitful information. They told me that I would pay 72 euros for both ways transportation but it was not true!!! They tell you different information when you ask them before you pay for
