Inn boys rather than hotels (though uncles)
On the whole, it was good.
When I saw other people's Contributions, I thought the inn's comments were pros and cons. What I actually felt when I checked in was a 'family inn'. It was a limited bathing time and a set meal time, but since we are used to traveling :) I thought dinner was around 6 p.m., breakfast was around 8 p.m., and it was OK to have a different time slot as long as the private bath was not available (it was true that the private bath was filled with early arrivals), so I enjoyed the empty private open-air bath exclusively in the morning time zone.
The food was also made into a slightly higher grade plan, so I was satisfied.
It didn't feel expensive either because it was a weekday.
Check-in, dinner preparation, and futon bedding were all carried out by what we thought were family members from breakfast to the final farewell.
I wonder if these guys are sleeping. Tsure said something unnecessary.
The reviews in the past were inevitably good or bad for this stay, and I was half-doubtful about the stay, but for someone who knows what it's like to run a family business, I just thought 'it's normal for that kind of customer service.'
We, the travelling men's army, are not going to defend the inn, nor are we the innkeepers, but I feel that the people who have made bad Contributions through past reviews are from Asian countries overseas. Didn't you like it too much because you've been copying and pasting the same content to reviews on multiple websites listing Japanese words that you know can be heard outside of hours as long as you pay for them? Well, it's national. Those who think they can do anything as long as they pay.
No facility is always a five out of five at an Inn hotel
(Since I am a Kyoto resident who stays more than 100 days a year), I do not judge how far I go based on price alone, but based on the quality of the facilities and the movement of the staff. You may find yourself in the same situation. I also think there is no choice but to see if it suits my personality better. Even the best hotels have those.
We're staying at the inn knowing all that.
People who don't complain if things don't go their way. Reservations are a win! To be honest, I had a lot of restrictions this time, but it can't be helped because it's a 'family business,' and because of that, I received a wonderful 'offer' that no other big Inn has. Actually, the inbound person in front of us was struggling with not being able to use the card, but did you not see the notes section of the site when making a Reservation? It's strange to us.
It got longer, but it was like, "Family Hot Springs Inn," "Feel free to bathe when you're free!" I think I have a 4.5 Rating. If anything, the building is old (laughs).

The elementary school students feel that it is an Inn for Japanese who can follow the rules, or an Inn for overseas people who understand Japanese Inn.
Now check in at 14:45 to take a private open-air bath as absolutely desired!!

Worst ever
Worst Staying Experience – Hot Springs Trip
I stayed with my family on a family trip and it was a terrible experience that completely disappointed me. Throughout, I was very frustrated with the service that was not worth the price, the rude staff, and the number of poorly managed facilities.
First of all, even though the check-in time was supposed to start at 3 p.m., when we arrived at 4 p.m., we were told that the private bath was already full. "With zero options, and no sign of considering our situation, we were coldly pushed aside, saying, ""I can't negotiate.""" Dinner was set at 6pm and breakfast at 8pm, which was a compulsory schedule that completely ignored our schedule. "I was traveling with my family from Germany and I thought they would be a little more flexible, but they said, ""If you don't like it, you can cancel it, but there will be a cancellation fee."" It was as if we were getting in the way."
It was even worse in terms of facilities. The air conditioning was moldy, the bathroom was covered in dust and there was no sense of cleanliness. It's easy to see that the certificates posted have already expired and are sloppy to manage. What’s more, the moment you enter a small room costing 60,000 yen a night, it’s as hot as a sauna. The air conditioning wasn't working and an elderly female staff member apologized for the broken timer, but that didn't explain it. Eventually we were forced to stay in very hot weather.
We tried to ask for something at dinner, but when we rang the bell, no one came, and we ended up having our own self-service dinner even though we had paid a lot of money. I have no idea what "hospitality" is.
Furthermore, when it comes to hot springs, they are just boiling water with no temperature control at all. The shower facilities were useless and it was not a relaxing environment at all. And at night, the air conditioning was either too loud or too hot to sleep at all.
Pricing system
Worse still, because we couldn't pre-populate the number of children, we were charged an extra 35,000 yen locally. They said this included self-service dinners and bedding, but there was no prior explanation for this. I was looking forward to it as a family vacation, but it just made me feel uncomfortable.
When I asked the young staff why they were so cold, all they said was, "Please cancel," and I didn't feel sincere at all. After that, an older staff member told me that they were struggling with the recent earthquakes and typhoons, but this had nothing to do with me. I can't believe they treated me so badly when I paid 120,000 yen. This was a completely fraudulent experience.
Summary
This Speciality Lodging was completely worth the price. I've lived in Japan for over 15 years and understand the severity of tourism, but I've never experienced anything so bad. Anyone considering staying at this inn should think twice. I will communicate this experience firmly through Rakuten and ask for an appropriate response.

It is our very first time to stay in a traditional Japanese Ryokan.. i believed that they open to tourist not Long ago... it is operate by limited staffs and they could only speak very simple English... Although, there are some communication barrier between us, their gesture make us feel like staying at home rather in a hotel...
The majority of their ryokan’s amenities is old but well maintained... they had upgraded their air conditioner to the new one which allow you to change your room temperature to your preference (some hotel is using central heater and make us feel too warm in the room)
As a tourist, I personally feel that we might not aware that some of our behaviour may affect them..
We didn’t aware/informed that there is a specific time for serving the dinner at 6pm or 6:30pm before checked in, we had missed the dinner time when we checked in at 8:30pm... it is so sweet that the host ask their kitchen to prepare us with our dinner at the late hours... I think it will be good if Expedia could inform the visitor ahead on to take note on their dinner serving timing and arrangement the private onsen timing

Great place for an Onsen stay
It was quite a walk from the Hakone Train station but nevertheless the sights on the way were nice to take in. There is a private outdoor onsen where you'll be able to book for 45 mins, a public onsen and another in the room. Dinner and breakfast spread was exceptional. The only downside is that the pillows were rock hard but it is supposed to help your back whilst sleeping.

First stay at a Roykon
Arrived at the hotel roughly 4:30pm.. Taken to our room where we served tea & had the evenings plans explained..
Had the private onsen booked from 5:20 - 5:50.. Its plenty of time as the water is quite warm.
(Note for first timers to this onsen) - you wear your kimono & socks down to the onsen & take your towel.. You have to wash all over, including hair & face.. And bath nude..
Dinner was served at 6:30pm, roughly 9 courses.. Food was great! Staff all welcoming & can speak only a small amount of English.. Would highly recommend this place.. Superb value for money..
Tip - if you don't smoke, ask for a non-smoking room..
