I Almost want to keep this place a secret
We had the most unforgettable stay at Dar Mouassine in Marrakesh – truly a five-star experience in every sense. From the very beginning, Carole was an exceptional host. Although she communicated remotely, her communication was flawless: warm, helpful, and incredibly prompt in responding to every message, which made everything feel seamless and well looked after.
On our first night, Carole arranged a sit-down meal with her cook, and it was nothing short of spectacular. A true traditional Moroccan feast that honestly rivalled (and even surpassed) many of the fancy restaurants we ate at during our stay. It set the tone for an incredible trip.
Inza and Abdol were an absolute dream team. They went above and beyond to look after every single guest, always attentive, kind, and full of fascinating local knowledge. Thanks to them, we didn’t just visit Marrakesh — we experienced the real Marrakesh. Their recommendations, stories, and insights made all the difference.
One of our favourite memories was dancing together in the main courtyard of the riad, joined by a locally organised belly dancer who brought the energy and got us all into the celebratory spirit. It was pure joy and laughter — a moment we’ll never forget.
The riad itself, combined with the incredible people who run it, made this a 40th birthday celebration to remember forever. We all left with full hearts and are already counting down the days until we return.
Thank you once again, Carole, Inza, and Abdol — you made our stay truly magical.

Nightmare!!
Deeply disappointing stay at Dar Musique. Upon arrival, I was pressured into paying an undisclosed fee to a porter during the airport transfer—no mention was made beforehand, and I paid only because he became aggressive. The riad had water issues requiring prolonged running for hot water, unlike any other riad I’ve stayed in. This led to an accident involving my friend, requiring a CT scan and hospital visit. On arrival the pool was green (algae?) and the host claimed I asked for the filter to be turned off, which I didn't. Despite paying for exclusive use of the riad, the owner suggested that the use of more than two bedrooms was a “gesture of goodwill”? The property was rundown: broken furniture, peeling paint, damp patches, dead plants, unusable speakers, and hazardous outdoor areas. Owner offered a mere £118 refund and ignored Airbnb’s follow-up. I will speak to the card company. No doubt they will try and discredit my claims here, but the pictures speak for themselves. Avoid.

Beautiful traditional riad experience
We stayed at dar mouassine for three nights. Would highly recommend staying here if you want to experience an authentic riad. The rooms are large, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The roof terrace was really pretty and very quiet. The courtyard was equally pretty.
One thing to note is there are no locks on the doors which we were initially worried about, but this wasn't a problem as the riad is very secure- no one can enter unless staff open the huge bolted door for you. This also seems to be a common thing in Marrakech. If you're really worried then lock your valuables in your suitcase.

Welcoming and warm hospitality
I cannot say enough about the warm hospitality we received here. The welcome with mint tea, the warm smiles, the beautiful rooftop breakfast and the stunning room all make this an easy 5 star review. The location is close to the main square, like others have posted it is quite hidden and therefore having transportation prepared by the Riad would be suggested. They dropped us off at Bab Laksour Gate where a luggage porter walked us the 10 minute walk to the Riad. Thank you all so much for making this stay so memorable. One other thing is that we stayed here for one night before going on a desert trek and then returning for three more nights, the hotel will hold your luggage if you want to pack a small backpack for your tour.

Lovely Charming Dar in the Medina
We spent a week in Morocco amongst which 4 days in Marrakech. We booked this Dar based on the good reviews and the pictures. We look for authentic atmosphere not the big hotels. This place certainly had that. Sure, not everything was perfect (bed was painful, towel bar fell off the wall, no lock on the rooms,...) but we really liked the place. Staff was very friendly and helpful, food was simple but very tasteful, the terrace was really nice. We love the small pool. Just one thing... the place is hard to find if you don’t know the medina. We needed a local.boy to get us there (who wants to be payed of course). If those pain points can be resolved this is a very nice dar.
