Recommended

Fantastic room is very spacious! Good service, all staff very friendly and attentive! Very good breakfast! One thing that was less positive is that at night the hotel has no possibility of eating anything outside hours of the bar close.

Total disappointment!

Very disappointed by our stay at this hotel, when we chose this property to spend a pleasant time with the family and discover the area.
We paid more than €800 for two nights, but unfortunately the first night was almost impossible because of the very high noise of the tram, present from 6am until about 1:30am at night. We then wasted much of our next day trying to find a solution with the reception to change rooms (change of room only at 3pm).
The experience at the hotel restaurant was also very disappointing! Despite an addition of more than 140 €, the welcome and service were not at the expected level. A French-speaking waitress had a cold and unprofessional attitude, which clearly made us feel that we were not really welcome. We also felt like we were in a hurry to leave the restaurant after the meal.
In the end, instead of enjoying our family holiday, we mostly spent our time dealing with problems and trying to get solutions. Very very disappointing!

Merci d’avoir pris le temps de partager votre expérience avec nous. Nous sommes sincèrement désolés de lire que votre séjour n’a pas été à la hauteur de vos attentes.
Nous comprenons parfaitement à quel point les nuisances sonores du tram ont pu être désagréables et avoir un impact sur votre sommeil et votre séjour. Nous regrettons également que le changement de chambre ait pris autant de temps.
Par ailleurs, nous sommes navrés d’apprendre que vous ne vous êtes pas senti les bienvenus dans notre restaurant. L’hospitalité est au cœur de notre établissement et nous trouvons regrettable que cela ne soit pas ressorti lors de votre dîner.
Vos remarques ont été partagées en interne avec les départements concernés afin que nous puissions en tirer des enseignements et apporter des améliorations.
Nous aurions aimé vous offrir un séjour familial relaxant au bord de la mer et regrettons sincèrement que cela n’ait pas été votre expérience.

Perfect location. Hotel has aged, but it's okay.

Great location!
There is a wardrobe missing in the room!
The bathroom door resembles a wardrobe door. Open at the bottom, no privacy in the bathroom!

Reposted Review: Beware of Lost Property – Disappointing Service

I am reposting this review because TripAdvisor removed my original post following the hotel's recent renovation. However, excellent decor does not change poor customer service, and my experience remains highly relevant for future guests.
I stayed at the Carlton Beach Hotel Scheveningen with a friend and checked out at 12:00 PM. A few hours later, on my way home, I realized I had left a brand-new blouse and trousers hanging in the room's wardrobe. Since the clothes had only been worn once and I really liked them, I immediately called the reception at around 2:30 PM.
The receptionist indifferently told me that if anything was found, it would be uploaded to the "iLost" website. Trusting her, I waited. In hindsight, the reception team made absolutely zero effort to proactively help a guest who had called within hours of checkout.
By Monday, the items were still not online. I called again, and the reception promised to investigate and call me back. They never did.
On Wednesday, I decided to visit the hotel in person to retrieve my clothes. To my utter shock, the reception desk simply told me, "We don't have your clothes." Despite me calling the exact same day we checked out, they claimed they didn't know who had cleaned the room, and no one took responsibility.
It feels as though the Carlton Beach Hotel filters through forgotten items, allowing staff to keep valuable, nice clothing for themselves. You will likely never see your lost belongings again. To make matters worse, when I asked to speak with the General Manager to explain the situation, she completely refused to talk to us.
Due to the total lack of accountability and disrespect, I have filed an official police report for theft. Beautiful location, but terrible ethics and customer service.

Stayed in room on the 6th floor close to elevator and maybe a custodial closet? Constant noise of doors opening and shutting.
Shower was leaking but it worked. Water pressure could be better.
Staff was amazing: Friendly and helpful!
