Great hotel in a really good location. The staff were all really nice. The breakfast staff were very kind and helpful also.

Just arrived and already a disaster.
Just arrived and already a disaster. Ive been here less than 8 hours and absolutely awful. Firstly, I arrived about 1.5 hours early, although they seemed empty I was made to wait until exactly 2pm to check in. I was then told that I was only staying until the 16th, although I knew I was booked until the 17th, I had to actually connect to their Internet and find the booking to show them, then they suddenly found the extra days booking as if by magic. I got to the room and their was no instructions for the safe, it looked as if the batteries were dead, I called the room service guy who, luckily was outside my room, he tried to get it to work but then had to call maintenance. The TV also didn't work, apparently every time you turn the TV off then you have to fiddle around behind the TV to get it to work again. Then I decided to go and look for the pool, only to discover the pool that the hotel has pictured on its website is actually at another hotel which is 25 minutes away, it would be illegal to advertise in the uk that you have a pool when you haven't actually got a pool but who knows in the Philippines. I spoke to the receptionist who said I could use the pool at the other hotel but I would have to pay for the taxi both ways every day. I then asked to speak to the manager, I explained the situation and told him that i shouldn't have to pay to travel to a swimming pool that I was expecting to be at my hotel, he did offer complimentary transport but this will be a pain having to travel an hour back and forth every time I want a swim. Then we had 3 power cuts, luckily I wasn't in the elevator, I walked up 6 stories, however I couldn't get my room as there was no power on the door.
I'm now back at the hotel after having some dinner and the WiFi is down, it's always been very weak in my room and won't connect to the strongest signal, however now it's completely gone, reception told me it will be 30 minutes, that was 2 hours ago. Added to all this my air-conditioning keeps beeping.

Please train your people here to be accommodating. Kindness goes a long way.

We love to stay in Herald suites, mostly in the Polaris branch. Tried booking in this branch, in Chino Roces. The concierge people are a bit rude tho. I felt so judged lol. My partner came earlier than me, then when I arrived, one staff asked me to log/register so I went to the lady and gave her my ID, she even called my partner if my partner is expecting a guest. I really tried to keep my cool tho but at that point I really feel so invalidated. Then, I was asking for my ID, the lady told me she will give me the ID when I come back down. I was confused like what??? Oh she thought I was just visiting a friend. lol! It pissed me off even more!
I don't know if I'm being entitled but I had a better experience from hotel staffs who don't make you feel uncomfortable. Of all the things, I just don't want to be put into a position where I would have to explain why I have to be in that place or why I deserve to take up that space. Or maybe I'm having a bad day but I know I did not like the experience.
I hope these people be trained properly. Kindness is free tho.

Even rooms of the same rank can be good or bad.

First stay through a business partner. The place is right in front of Little Tokyo, and I don't have any trouble eating. There is also a 7-Eleven diagonally in front of the hotel, making the location convenient.
This time I stayed in a standard room, but my room didn't have a bathtub, although my colleague who booked the same room had one. Only the shower booth is separated by a shower curtain, and the shower curtain doesn't reach all the way down, so after taking a shower you'll be all the way to the toilet floor. In addition to my foot wipes, I put bath towels to prevent the toilet floor from getting wet. There was also a city view and indication, but outside the window was the roof and walls of the next building. My colleague in the upper floor room had a proper city view. I was also in no condition to sleep, as there was a "goo-goo-goo" exhaust coming out of the building next door in front of the window all night. What is the difference between rooms of the same rank?
The interior of the room feels pretty old, especially the lace curtains, which are so black with dust that they stick to your fingers when you touch them. How on earth have we not washed the curtains in decades?
Breakfast is not a buffet but a choice from the menu. Continental BF, American BF and Japanese set meals are available, but even with the breakfast plan, Japanese set meals require an additional fee of PHP 100.
By the way, there was a smoking area by the pool at Roof Deck, which is not comfortable for smokers.
The hotel is thought to be targeted at Japanese people in terms of location, and there seems to be some staff who speak Japanese. It may be recommended for those who are not used to overseas.
* P.S. The female staff at the restaurant was extremely courteous and pleasant!
