What a Dump
Having view the breakfast menu on line we asked if there was any chance of changing the breakfast egg to poach rather than the fried/scrambled on the menu. We were told the basic menu was as it stood with no variations!! On our first morning we chose as bacon sandwich – needless to say the next morning we didn’t bother
We were allocated room 9, which was basic to say the least, with shabby decoration and poor facilities.
The morning tea/coffee making facility in the room consisted of two mugs on the dressing table with one spoon, four sachets of coffee, four tea bags, sugar sleeves, milk but no complimentary biscuits and no tray for them to stand on. There were no other complimentary products such as tissues and no USB points. The rust on the radiator came as no surprise at this point!
Moving to the shower room. First thing to meet you was a mysterious staining on the floor, no shaving point, no towel rail, mould round the shower tray and no shelf to place toilet bags. The toilet seat was loosed/broken, the vent fan did not work (required under planning regulations) and the shower door did not closed properly. A word of warning not to look up at the shower room light fitting – not sure? Clearly the carpets had not been cleaned for some time. (A need to wipe your feet on the way out!)
It became quite clear the next morning when the carpark was full of contractors’ vehicles, who did no stay for breakfast – I wonder why!!
