I’d go back to Scotland just to stay here!
We (my wife and I) stayed at Ardvreck House for 7 days and 6 nights with a guided hiking tour of 8, in early June. It was part of our 25th anniversary, and we were there on our actual anniversary. Our stay was absolutely amazing! Where to start?
Breakfast every morning was fantastic! Eggs. Sausage. Bacon. Blood pudding. Grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. All cooked so well and extremely tasty. A variety of toasts and pancakes. Ready to go porridges and overnight soaked oats, with the best selection of fresh berries and fruits and top notch yogurt. Coffee and tea. And juices. Like … I don’t think I’ve ever ate better breakfasts in my life. Which was so welcome because we had long hikes every day. Aiden is an amazing host and we looked forward to his breakfast everyday!
The rooms. Immaculate! I’m a bit of a stickler for showers and water pressure and the Ardvreck did not disappoint! Beautiful washrooms and very clean given the relentless humidity of Scotland. And the towel warmer was also a plus for us! The beds were amazingly comfortable and very cozy. Closet space was also very generous. And the in room nespreso machine and kettle came in handy when I need an extra pick me up.
The dining area also had a very well decorated seating f area with an amazing view looking out onto the Loch. There was a fantastic selection of whiskeys and gins, and wines and beers and ciders, that you could help yourself to in the seating area, you just needed to write down your room number and you can settle up at the end of your stay. I often would go down after a long day and have a dram or two and look out onto the loch. :-) it was the perfect end to the day for me and I’ll remember and cherish those evenings for a long time.
I’d go back to Scotland just to stay at the Ardvreck house! My wife and I agree it was probably the best place/hotel/inn/guest-house We’ve ever stayed at. Honestly. I cannot recommend this place enough! We were there for our 25th anniversary and this place really made our entire holiday perfect!

Stunning location, beautifully appointed guest house
What a location this is! It has a real wow factor as you arrive to self check in which is really easy. The guest house is beautifully decorated throughout and has it's own carpark. There is an honesty bar which has the most stunning views across the Loch and the breakfast is a full self service with tea and coffee served by Neil. Both he and Aiden are great hosts with loads of advice on places to visit and walks to do in the area. The rooms are beautifully appointed with some really nice touches, we'll definitely be back, thanks for making us feel very welcome

Highly Recommend.
Highly recommend. Everything about the stay was 5 stars. Accommodations were perfect. Breakfast was great. Hosts were friendly and engaging.

Beautiful views
The view from our room and the hotel was fantastic! Our room was a bit on the small side but fine and very thoughtful appointed. It looked like a lot of care went into thinking about what guests might want in the room - thank you.
The breakfast was also delicious, my husband is still talking about how wonderful the berries were.
The rating of 4 instead of 5 comes from our feeling of it being a bit impersonal. I didn’t mind the self check in. The owners (I assume) were around but although we were there two nights, neither of them introduced themselves or welcomed or asked who we were. That felt odd, they were nice when we spoke to them, I’m inferring that the people we spoke to were the owners, but we felt like we were just anonymous guests staying in some room at their hotel. I think with 10 rooms it’s possible to acknowledge who we are or ask. We didn’t need a red carpet but just a very small personal welcome, the first time we ran into them would have been a nice touch.

Delightful, delightful, delightful. A Must!!
Stunning location. Exceptional attention to detail, delighting in every way. Wonderul welcoming hosts; nothing too much trouble. Rooms excellent, comfortable bed, amazing view, very good bathroom.
Breakfast perfect; best smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I can recall. Well stocked honesty bar, seating with panoramic views and perfect background beats.
I’ve been lucky enough to stay at some of the world’s top hotels in London, New York, Paris and Hong Kong. None has been a greater pleasure than Ardwreck House.
Can’t wait to return.
