Very well priced accommodation, clean quiet, close to dining options on the same street.

Great motel for a quiet night in a good bed. Location is excellent if you want to walk into town for shopping, eating or just checking it out. Room # 4 is unfortunately a bit tired and I could easily list 6 things which would bring it up to a much higher standard. There’s potential there.

Pet friendly (for an extra $15). Very convenient location. Motel is showing a little bit of age but completely comfortable for a short stay. Parking right outside room.

Avoid this Motor Inn. It was not cleaned properly!

When we walked in the room was quite dusty. There was also a light fitting hanging off the wall dangling by its power cables as we walked in. The Venetian blinds did not close properly and there was a broken slat on the blind . There was a dark ring in the bottom of a coffee mug that had not been washed, which was difficult to remove. The coffee was very poor, probably the worst I have ever had at a motel.
To top it off when we woke in the morning, having climbed into bed without looking as we were very tired, I pulled back the sheets to find dried faeces on my side of the bed. Obviously the sheets had not been changed, or even checked for cleanliness! (Ceiling light was so dim at night I probably would not have been able to see it anyway).
We showed the girl at reception when we checked out. She took a photo to show the manager. He rang us later in the day, apologised, said he took full responsibility and told us he had sacked the cleaner. He offered us a voucher to stay there on a future trip, or to give to someone else to use as we live 7 hours away and are not likely to go back.
I told him I wanted a full refund as there was no way we would ever stay at this motel again or be willing to suggest anyone else ever stay there! He agreed to refund our money, but then said he didn’t know how to do that. I told him he needed to talk to someone to find out how to refund our money.
I tried to ring him twice but he didn’t answer my call (it went straight to voicemail). I then emailed him twice with no response either time. I still have no refund from him and because we authorised the payment the bank will not refund our money either.
A motel we had booked in Tamworth cancelled at the last minute because of an issue with the air conditioner. The manager offered to organise a replacement and booked us into this motel. I have no proof of the booking because of this, so could not process a claim against the Armidale motel through Department of Fair trading.
Lesson learned the hard way…. Always pull the bed back and check the sheets when you check in no matter how tired you are or what the rating of the motel is!

We appreciated the cooperation from the reception, nothing was too hard, assisted with using a fridge in another room to help us. The shower was one of the best ever
