I booked a disabled room & there was nothing about the room that was disabled friendly, she kept saying what is wrong with the room.
the rooms have no aircon or fans that you can control, it is controlled by reception so I was very cold
Breakfast was terrible & overpriced for what is there.
the drive into or from Town is a nightmare because it is right in the middle of road works, you have to go way out of your way to do a U turn to get back to the Hotel.
the 2 disabled spots were often taken by no permit holders so then you have to walk up uneven paths to get to the Hotel & the Lightning was not good please carry a torch to see.

Ocean view was a car park
I booked a room at Opal Cove Resort specifically because it was advertised as having ocean views. Instead, I was given a room on the resort side overlooking the car park — about as far from the ocean view I paid for as you could possibly get.
What made the experience even worse was the way the situation was handled. There was no genuine apology, no attempt to move me to the room I had actually booked, and absolutely no effort to offer any form of compensation or partial refund for the mistake.
Instead, I was told the issue was Booking.com’s fault because they are a third-party booking provider. I was essentially told that if I wanted any money back, I should try to get it from Booking.com myself. Seriously? Booking.com is a huge international booking platform — expecting a customer to chase them for a partial refund when the accommodation has failed to provide what was booked is hardly what I would call customer service.
I also want to specifically mention Cameron from Opal Cove, who was incredibly unhelpful throughout the situation. There seemed to be very little interest in actually resolving the problem or acknowledging that I had paid for something I simply did not receive.
Mistakes can happen, but how a business handles a mistake says everything about its customer service. In this case, Opal Cove failed completely. I paid for an ocean-view room and was given a room overlooking a car park, and rather than taking responsibility and trying to make things right, I was effectively told to take the issue up with someone else.
For a resort of this size, I expected far better. Very disappointing experience, extremely poor customer service, and certainly not what I expected after paying for an ocean-view room.
I would strongly recommend double-checking exactly what room you are actually getting before booking, because if something goes wrong, don’t expect Opal Cove to take responsibility or go out of its way to fix it.
