Felt right at home! Saw 5 Platypus!

I loved my stay at Willow Lodge! I couldn't believe what we got for how cheap it was. Peter spoiled us! He made us feel right at home and cooked the best breakfast we have had in Tasmania. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the whole house is so beautiful. The garden is so well looked after and I recommend a stroll around to enjoy all the beautiful sights and smells.
Peter is a wealth of information about what to see in and around Scottsdale and gave us so many excellent recommendations - we filled an entire day. I can highly recommend the Floating Sauna in Derby!
On our last morning Peter even took us to a local dam to see if we could spot the Platypus and we saw 5! (I have attached photos)
What a magical way to end our visit. We will definitely be back :)

Excellent Stay

Managed to get a room here after StHelens was booked out and we were pleased that we did. Great old house and accommodation with atmosphere. Bed extremely comfy and superb breakfast. Host Peter could not have been more helpful with local information and suggestions. With its position central to wineries, golf and surrounding attractions it’s the perfect place to stay. Thanks for a great stay Peter.

Exceptional accommodation in historic home.

Despite the owner, Pete, being stuck in NSW due to COVID travel restrictions, we were so well looked after, and had a wonderful two night stay at Willow Lodge. The property has gorgeous English style gardens, with a pool, spa and sauna. Our suite was perfect, with a full-size bedroom, sitting room and ensuite. Also an outdoor deck off our room. The decor is amazing, and everything was spotless, with great attention to detail, including a bottle of wine in the fridge, and a decanter of port in our room. Makings for a generous breakfast were left, and Allie checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend!

Disaster

Having read other reviews I can't believe this was the same place. We stayed in the Garden View Room. Needs TLC - cobwebs all over the place, windows/doors not working, paint peeling from the ceiling, surely the MOULD on the ensuite ceiling and roman blinds is a health hazard?? Looked like mould on the arms of the lounge chairs in the room too. Hosts were pleasant and garden is nice.

A night in Scottsdale

We found Willow lodge to be a quaint little B&B with great hosts in Dean and Ross. Our room was clean and conformable. There are some beautiful gardens surrounding the old house which was one of the original dwellings in the town. The breakfast was superb serviced on lovely old china, and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts.
