A gem in the mountains

The team, the ‘home’ feeling. Enjoy the tranquility, environment and comfort. Late at night on socks through the hallway to walk the dog to greet the staff, who are preparing with soft jazz music the next day. Es war richtige erholung ❤️

A great place for a seminar

The seminar room was pleasant, the food very good, the room very nice and generous. The Bio Hotel Grafenast is a very nice place for a seminar. The area is also suitable for smaller walks with a group. The view into the valley towards Innsbruck is fantastic.

Champagne prices for tap water

On September 21, I was here and paid €3.20 for a glass of tap water (“well water small”) – without any prior information. On request, it was explained as “extra filtered spring water”. In Tyrol, where we have the best drinking water directly from the tap, this is simply a rip-off.
It is not about the €3.20, but about the principle and the image that is conveyed to guests. The website advertises sustainability and organics heavily – but in practice it looks like pure marketing, which is made untrustworthy by such practices.
As a Tyrolean, I am embarrassed when tourists are confronted with something like this. Very disappointing and absolutely not recommended for me.

Pure relaxation

The hotel is beautifully located. The view of the valley is a dream. The atmosphere was very friendly and we will be very happy to come back.

Better go!

My experiences in the Grafenast were mixed: Facilities and offers, e.g. free excursions or hikes with mountain guide were great. Also the location with lift next door and toboggan run are great. The hoteliers come up with some evening events to connect guests and create closeness.
As a vegan, however, I often felt like I was a second-class guest, because the quality and choices of the food were sometimes very different from the food of the other guests, both at breakfast and dinner. Simplest dishes, such as a vegan vanilla sauce as an addition to dessert, were not made, but simply omitted. I just got dessert served dry. Once there were crepes for all in the evening as dessert, with a lot of different toppings to choose from. For me there were no crepes, but the mousse au chocolat from two days ago. The boss's grin with the remark that they were not vegan was very derogatory.
The hostess often has no control over her emotions and is always tempted to make pejorative remarks about and to guests she does not like or, if one expresses criticism. She had me on the hook, but I also experienced it towards others - not professionally!
If you are listed on the VeganWelcome portal, you should treat vegan guests differently and be better prepared.
