Recommended break for couples - a hotel of a different kind ;-)

Very nice family business (or family-like atmosphere). Everyone tries very hard and does their best.
Except for the dedicated bartender/receptionist - here you can see that his heart beats for cocktails and the guests.
At night a starry sky is projected onto the mountain. It's a very nice idea.
We really enjoyed the food... after the 6-course meal we could hardly move, but we didn't miss anything. ;-)

Unusual rooms

I travel a lot and I think that everything the hotel offers correspond to 4 stars. What was unexpected to us that it has specific thematic room with contain a grand piano as a bed. characters from Star wars and many other unusual things.

Not a hotel but motel at a distant place

Stayed at Kuschelhotel for three nights. It a distant place a well 45 minutes drive from city Centre. Located on a highway just on a small river or water body. From one side you can take your bus from main road to enter the hotel and can come out by other side. Minus one is parking so called fitness Centre. First floor is restaurant bar reception lobby and then three floors for guest rooms. Rooms are peculiar set on themes. Like my room has sky n planets in night shade. Some have Adam n eve n others. If you open the window there seems to be a jungle you are afraid some animal can jump into. TV can not be turned off changed remote but no help so ultimately it is to be unplugged. That too through their staff you can not find the plug.. Room has a very big bath tub where two persons can lay together. I think it's a honeymoon hotel. Also bathrooms has glass doors without any coverage. Breakfast is traditional cold cuts some useless bread may be boiledeggs tea coffee chocolate drinks and for us vegetarian corn flex. Some fellow Travellers found the behavior of staff strange may be racist also. But I found them quite ok helping without any attitude. Plus point is it gives beautiful scenic view from balcony n restaurant lobby. Overall not so pleasant but a different experience.

Some positives, but overall, a little strange

My husband and I spent one night at the Hotel Zeman while traveling through Austria. I should mention that in the beginning, I sent an email to the hotel via it's website in order to ask about a reservation, but I never got an answer. We needed to be in that area, so I ended up reserving a room on booking.com.
Our experience at the hotel was okay, but we did find the place a little strange. It is located in a rural area amid the Vienna woods; very pretty area but I'm not sure why most of the guests would overnight there - and there were other guests (all of whom seemed to be staying one night on the way to or from somewhere else). The exterior of the hotel is a little dated, which made me nervous, but the inside has been modernized - just in a very odd decor. There are strange colors and artwork throughout and many rooms are in a "theme" - ours was some kind of undersea theme with blue walls, fluorescent fish painted on the walls, and a fake coral reef from floor to ceiling. Nothing we would ever have chosen or want to do again.
Otherwise, the room was decent sized, with a huge tub, very modern shower and sink area (with very nice new fixtures) and separate toilet area, desk, free wifi that worked well, and even a little balcony with chairs and nice view of green mountainside. Unfortunately, it was still warm in Austria in early September and the room had no airconditioning; the solar loading (the drapes had been left open) made the room extremely hot when we arrived and overnight we had to leave the window open (with a little bit of noise, especially when morning traffic started).
We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant (since there is nowhere else to go!); nice table settings, pretty view, and a kind waiter who spoke enough English to see us through. Just wish the harsh overhead lighting had been turned down after sunset (and wish that the light fixtures had not revealed tons of dirt and bugs inside.) Must say that the food was very good and service very nice. Breakfast the next morning was in the same area - again, with a pretty view of forest - and was very complete.
In summary, it was not a bad experience, but the property - and especially the decor in the theme rooms plus lack of air conditioning - is not for us. The front desk staff was very friendly on both check-in and check-out too.

Good experience in the hotels

The food was good and the dining room has a great mountain view. Nice and clean room, not very big but tidy and clean, very cozy. Sadly I forgot to take a picture of my room, also ice age:) like the snow outside. And I heard that the mr. Zeman was a famous waiter for the Dutch Queen, and lots of visitors from Dutch came and stay in the hotel only to see mr. Zeman.
