Wonderful stay!!
Structure strategically located in a great location. Professional, patient and welcoming staff. Available at customers' requests. I thank Ves, Michaela, Alessia and all the staff. Clean, tidy rooms and only flaw so hot on arrival because they had turned on the heating in the room. We had dinner and enjoyed good food inside the structure. Thanks for everything

fantastic
Fantastic hotel, very young and very nice staff, very reasonable price (60 euros in January), luxurious thermal pool, sauna, fitness, gigantic shopping center nearby.. Only flat, metro station 15 minutes walk. Take bus 73.

This is not a true 5-star hotel. Our AC was broken for the first two nights, the sauna and jacuzzi were out of order, and breakfast had very few options. The worst part was the pool—it’s open to outside guests for swimming lessons, making it incredibly noisy and feeling like a public municipal pool. Very let down given how much we paid.

The hotel claims to have soundproof windows. However, if you're unlucky to get a room facing the main boulevard, you'll be hearing all traffic day and night. And this is a very busy boulevard. This is the reason why I can't give it a higher rating.

A boutique hotel with great potential but needing a bit of care
MGallery Maison Sofia is a high end boutique hotel located in a residential area about 30 minutes walk from central Sofia. In many ways I had an excellent stay there, but the hotel has both clear strengths and clear weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Loved the boutique hotel feel, and when you are in the hotel, and especially around the garden, it feels really nice and welcoming;
- Loved the pool and spa area on the lower floor: large and warm pool, sauna, hammam, gym - this was in every possible way the highlight of the hotel even though not everything is in working order (e.g. jacuzzi doesn't work);
- Rooms feel nice and tastefully decorated. I really liked it
- Based on my Accor status my room was upgraded which was vey nice.
- Staff were generally nice
Weaknesses:
- The first obvious limitation is the location. Given how compact Sofia is, it is clear that there are a lot of far more central options at similar price and luxury points which many people may prefer. Having said that, the hotel is convenient to the airport and to public transport
- The second clear weakness is that the hotel really needs better repairs and maintenance. I was upgraded to a nice suite but the shower temperature control didn't work, the mini fridge didn't work at all (it was plugged but did not cool at all), as mentioned, in the pool area, jacuzzi didn't work and so on
- Service was also hit and miss. Many staff are really nice and helpful, but for instance, I had breakfast included in my fare and as I was leaving early the last morning, asked how it worked and was offered a "take away breakfast" to pick up from reception before leaving. This was ordered and reconfirmed... but when I checked out, was nowhere to be found. The reception person looked in various places around the hotel for about 10 minutes until I had to ask him to give up as my taxi was waiting anyway. Not a huge deal but still disappointing. On the day I arrived, there were no bath towels or mat in my room, only two small hand towels. Frankly, that is pretty basic to check that you have put towels in a room. Not great! No bathrobe either (convenient for a hotel with pool!) though I asked at reception and it was brought promptly. At breakfast, things were not always replenished. One morning, it took over 20 minutes for yoghurt to be replaced (and it was not even that good yoghurt which is a bit shocking in Bulgaria! Tarator was not too good either). Some policies are also a bit strange like only 2 coffee pods per room (1 regular 1 decaf), and water bottle was only replaced on one day.
So on balance I'd say that it worked for me, I loved the pool and spa area, and I really enjoyed my stay, and the location is what it is. However, I do think that the hotel needs to improve maintenance and tighten service.
