One of the best locations to Stay

I stayed for three nights at Charles Square Hostel and I can say that the location was prime. Walkable distance to Prague 1 and 5. Other than that, the tram station is at foot only about a minute from the hostel. If I am going to stay in Prague for the second time, I must say, I will check out the availability of rooms at this place first.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Possibly one of the worst places I have every stayed in, arrived on the first day after 10 hours of travel to this hostel with no reception and no sign of anyone to show us in or drop our bags for until 3pm after having arrived in the county at 10am.
When finally into the room after about another 30 mins the gentleman running the place let himself into the room with no knock or warning, the room itself was full of bugs and sheets didn’t appear to be cleaned with a towel that also looked dirty.
Upon departure one of the group I was with that paid for the room on his card had another €350 charged to it trying to claim we broke a door with no other question and tried to say we were the only ones on that floor when in reality there was 2 other groups who we ran into 4 of the 5 days we were staying I just hope they don’t have to go through the same haste we do now.
There was only 1 male and female bathroom and 1 shower room with fully see through doors that provided no privacy and looked like they were not regularly cleaned to the degree a facility like that should be.
Honestly just all round horrible experience with a bully of an owner who tries to scam those who stay out of money with no backing to the claims.
Just hope this stops others from deciding to stay here.

Recommended affordable great location

The location in new town is good, close to tram, metro and supermarket. Fast check in and self check out. Very quiet during our stay on weekdays but noisy neighbours on the weekends. Wifi and hot shower are good. The only problem is the female toilet has a strong mold smell and I had to use the male toilet.

Good location, basic accomdation

Based in a very old building in Charles square. walking distance from most of prague's main tourist destinations. There is no restaurant in this hostel, it is just bedrooms with a small communal kitchen if you want to cook for yourself. Our beds were comfortable but the bed clothes and pillows smelled very stale and musky. There is a cafe downstairs that is only open during the week. No receptionist on duty. You contact a guy to let him know what time you are checking in and he meets you at the property, there is a charge for late check in. He accepts both euros and czech money. There is no communal area.

Worst Hostel in the World ... only go if you are going to be drunk the entire time

Worst Hostel I have ever been in... quite simply down to poor management ... the place is in a great location .. it is big enough... has a nice bed .. and is cheap ..but there is no reception after 4/5pm ????? I stayed for 3 days and every night I was woken up 2/3 times by drunken men running about the place at 3/4/5AM in the morning .. One morning I woke up to find plant pots smashed everywhere .. Windows left opened .. beer tins lying about ... its an absolute joke ... they need 24 hour reception and a time limit for guests to come in and if they are drunk told to be quiet ...if they had that the place would be fine ... but its not good when drunken Englishmen are banging on your door laughing screaming room service room service .. Also was charged 12 Euros extra for 9pm check in .. when I got there I was let straight in by some random guy who took the money and then when I met the owner the day after he charged me another 10 Euros ... honestly the place is an absolute joke .. only go if you need a bed to pass out on when you come back from the bar anytime of the night you want ..FORGET ABOUT FREE WIFI ... does not work at all ...
