Peaceful guesthouse on Elephantine Island
The guest house is clean and comfortable, you can really make yourself at home here. Our room was spacious, the air con was effective and there was always hot water for a shower.
Elephantine Island is so peaceful, it seems so far away from the madness of Aswan.
If you are looking for an authentic experience this guesthouse is a must stay. We had some great conversations with Saif, he is a very interesting man and a true gentleman.
It is just few minutes walk from the ferry station. Saif will come to meet you so finding the place is not a problem.
We used Google Maps and didn't have any issues. Ferries run between the island every couple of minutes so it really isn't a problem to stay on Elephantine - I would recommend it if you like peace and quiet.
Saif organised a couple of take away meals for us and we also ate at a restaurant on the island, King Jamaica, which was excellent.
Saif also helped with taxis and a driver to take us sightseeing.
Highly recommended!

Séjour mitigé
Aucun commerce sur l'île.
Les restos sont tous assez éloignés
La guesthouse comprend d'un côté des chambres borgnes, de l'autre des chambres avec fenêtre. Toutes ont une salle d'eau.
Le petit déjeuner sur demande est servi assez tard, après 8h1/2 et le service est plein de bonne volonté et de gentillesse, mais très lent.
Pas d'extérieur où s'installer, les ruelles de l'île sont pour la plupart sales et certaines non éclairées le soir.
Pas pratique pour des personnes âgées ou de validité limitée.
